If the fans were booing the umpires then so be it but why on earth would they boo the umpires while Pendles was accepting and talking during the medal ceremony? Is Pendles an umpire is he?
How ruddy stupid do you have to be to waste your oxygen on booing him at that time.
Some people :rolleyes::oops:

Wrong, this was afterwards.

I just watched it back, Bucks wasn't being booed when he approached the microphone, only once he complained of Pendles copping it.
Yeah they stopped in between and then Bucks started immmediately talking about ANZACs, but ultimately who gives a **** about booing. If the person doesn’t have known mental health issues, go nuts.

Im proud of the way essendon played, and really enjoyed the game. Well done collingwood, they are clearly a better team than us. But the number of umpiring howlers made it a very frustrating loss. I mean when every player on the ground stops and the crowd believe it's a free, how can the umpires miss this? Not only once but many times
I agree, Essendon got the worse of it in my opinion also.

In fact I think the umps seemed to let more go today than the season standard so far. The umps tend to get more tentative in big games I think and know there's higher scrutiny for calling something that isn't there rather than missing one.

Good game.

I'll also add, I think the booing thing happened in part because of the topical Ablett booing media discussions from Monday. People don't like being told they can't do something (some people anyway - incl. booing), I think this made things worse.

Umpiring was absolutely shit both ways. Both teams got some shit calls. Essendon more towards the end

If Essendon had a better 1st qtr, they would've won. Collingwood didn't deserve to win this game

What hurts is had we have won there was so many highlights for us today. Daniher with 2 miracle goals, Saads run down tackles and Hooker's courageous mark would all have been huge replays.
Agree on all fronts mate. And had your blokes been on from the very first bounce we’d probably be sitting here dissecting a fairly comfortable Essendon win.

Big footy for idiots
Quick think of a witty reply
Hurrr durr remember that one good game he played.

What does the prelim have to do with cox missing easy goals from free kicks today?

Not every reply is salty about the prelim mate.
Big footy idiots. Judging a player off one average game.

Any bombers fans sooking have conveniently forgotten Bagleys non free on Langdon and Tippa throwing it to Daniher.
Id like to see Tippas 'throw' again as I didnt see it clearly enough to say either way.

But if you think the poor umpiring was equally as penalising for both sides you're kidding yourself

Nothing directly mate. Although it’s fairly bold to label a player ‘garbage’ when you’ve seen him first hand singlehandedly tear a final apart. If a player who can do that is ‘garbage’ then there must be hundreds of players out there who are even less than ‘garbage’.

Hopefully something will now be done re. umpiring Collingwood games- some of the more surreal moments I've seen during a game. Just refused to award HTBs against the pies.

Can't believe I'm saying this but that was a brave performance by the Bombers. Not sure if there is a template there as to how to unstitch the Pies when they are flying. Hope Dimma and co. are watching the replay closely.

The scenes and booing at the final presentation was very poor, agreed.

However... had we won a game in those circumstances, I wouldn't blame the opposition for being a bit feral. It only takes a few dickheads in the crowd to start and then so many sheep just follow along.

Back to the game... was a classic. I think both clubs (yep, with Collingwood and the four points) can take a fair bit away from that.
Yep. Footy fans are morons. Hold the press. In other news, the sky is blue

Settled down now post game.

Umpires were poor but our disposal and first quarter nerves cost us.

Won 3 quarters but lost the match.

Back this up next week and win and we show we are a top team. If we dish up shit next week we are pretenders.

If Pendlebury is such a 'Champion', then why does he need to duck into a pack of oppo players then play for the free (which is no different to diving!)?
Should be fined imo.
If the AFL finally outlawed ducking, players like Pendlebury and Selwood would be as impactful as Mo Hope!

Were you in the bathroom when he got the world's worst holding free kick 15m out from goal?

Even Richard lounder played one good game ;)

can't wait for him to kick his 3 - 4 goals against your shit team again

I can understand that last minute umpiring decisions in a close game get a lot more scrutiny but let’s not forget that the reason the game was so close was the last two Bombers goals that should have not been allowed.

The Langdon/Baguley contest shouldn’t get called against the defender when they are both holding and the defender gets to spoil the ball first.

And Tippa threw the ball over his head to set up the last Daniher goal (though the commentators didn’t notice and of course as a result most of the viewers didn’t either).

Edit: and the ridiculous in the back call against Grundy to Guelfi for a perfectly fine tackle. That’s when we had all the momentum too.
