Seems Essendon fans were upset peddles led with the head and got a soft free whilst tippa tried theee times got nothing
Leaning away from the opposition trying to break a tackle =/= driving head into gut of tackler. Even still Pendles one was probably there as Merrett was moving into him. But so were the first two Tippa ones where around goal as he was trying to make the play not play for the free. The third outside fifty was a genuine lowering of the body for the free kick and was the right call to not be paid.

Im all for letting the game flow and not blowing tiggys but fmd the umps have completely swallowed the wistle..

Rubbish. Pendals was speaking, he thanked the crowd and still they booed. Embarrasing behaviour and good on Bucks for calling it out.
their timing wasnt the best but they were clearly protesting the result and umpiring. Bucks completely misread the situation

As a Carlton supporter, I couldn’t care less about who won the game or the argument about who benefitted from the umpiring.

What I do care about is how bad the standard of umpiring is becoming.

The booing at the end was caused by the umpiring, on a great day like today where the crowd started off in a very respectful mood because of the Anzac occasion, the disgraceful umpiring throughout the entire game caused emotions to overcome the respect of the occasion.

I’m telling you guys, if the AFl don’t fix the umpiring, one day a riot will break out after a game just from sheer anger.
David king tried to start one on the fox post game coverage, saying he wasn’t sure if the umpires will get of the ground in one piece

Use common sense, who are the supporters angry at? Is it the other team who are simply playing to win or the umpires who diluted the evenness of the contest. Come on mate it’s not that hard to understand.
I think most people understand it was directed at umpires.

BUT given the occasion and the fact a player has been awarded an ANZAC day medal, and begins his speech with thanks to the crowd, only to be responded with vocal boos, it's a bit disrespectful.
Boo the umpires going off, boo after the speeches, call up talk up and boo down the phone line. Just gotta pick your moments better, otherwise the message is lost.

As usual you completly missed the point.

The original post was that Essendon had 4 goals from frees to the pies zero, ya'll got free kicks just garbage blokes shanked them.

I hope you can see this without resorting to "Lol remember that one game he played against you"
I didn’t miss the point. I said I saw it. And I agree it was soft.

Now answer my question; is a player getting a soft free kick really all it takes for him to be labelled as ‘garbage’?

It’s Anzac Day ffs, whether you won or lost you don’t boo during the presentations when people are thanking everyone and you’re meant to be remembering what the spirit of the day is about. Boo the umpires as they leave the ground or during the game if you feel compelled to air your dissatisfaction, but the other teams players nor coach have anything to do with their calls so pull your heads in and think

Another one who lacks the understanding that a free kick count means nothing without context.

It was about the fees that werent paid to the Bombers in critical, game defining moments.
What were your thoughts on the Baguley free that resulted in a goal? Or the Guelfi free that resulted in a goal?

Fair?

Now point out what frees the umps missed that would’ve resulted in an Essendon goal.

I’ll be waiting all night..

Maybe that’s the case, although not sure how you can be so clear on it, but Pendlebury got booed as he walked up, he had to stop speaking-the boos were drowning him out. So that looks like they are angry at him. And so good on Buckley for defending his player.

I labelled him garbage for missing the goals not for getting free kicks.

Agree it was disrespectful but emotions were high after watching howler after howler. The last free for Brown instead of penalising Stephenson took the cake

I can understand that last minute umpiring decisions in a close game get a lot more scrutiny but let’s not forget that the reason the game was so close was the last two Bombers goals that should have not been allowed.

The Langdon/Baguley contest shouldn’t get called against the defender when they are both holding and the defender gets to spoil the ball first.

And Tippa threw the ball over his head to set up the last Daniher goal (though the commentators didn’t notice and of course as a result most of the viewers didn’t either).

Edit: and the ridiculous in the back call against Grundy to Guelfi for a perfectly fine tackle. That’s when we had all the momentum too.
People focus on whatever helps their agenda.

Thought Baguley's free was 50/50 or slightly in Baguely's favour. Cant remember Guelfi's free. I do remember Tippa copping high contact numerous times and getting nothing. Given what a great kick he is they were big misses

Off the top of my head Tippa being tackled high twice.

I don't really get the umpire whinging though they were consistently bad at not paying certain free kicks all day.
