As a Carlton supporter, I couldn’t care less about who won the game or the argument about who benefitted from the umpiring.

What I do care about is how bad the standard of umpiring is becoming.

The booing at the end was caused by the umpiring, on a great day like today where the crowd started off in a very respectful mood because of the Anzac occasion, the disgraceful umpiring throughout the entire game caused emotions to overcome the respect of the occasion.

I’m telling you guys, if the AFl don’t fix the umpiring, one day a riot will break out after a game just from sheer anger.
been saying same for a while, how can the AFL consider the Umpiring up to scratch because it clearly isn't.I do not blame the Umpires as much as I blame the AFL for this disaster. I guess McLachlan will sit on his fooking hands again.

Thought Baguley's free was 50/50 or slightly in Baguely's favour. Cant remember Guelfi's free. I do remember Tippa copping high contact numerous times and getting nothing. Given what a great kick he is they were big misses
Off the top of my head Tippa being tackled high twice.

I don't really get the umpire whinging though they were consistently bad at not paying certain free kicks all day.
I also saw them. mxett neither if them would’ve resulted in a shot on goal for him. Both were about 70-80 out.

I just don’t understand how there was any incorrect umpiring calls that directly cost Essendon goals for people on here to say they were robbed. Pies were the better side. As I said earlier, umpiring was horrendous both ways tbf.
That's what I keep saying. Yes the umpires made terrible calls. Collingwood were the only team to suffer goals from it.

Maybe that’s the case, although not sure how you can be so clear on it, but Pendlebury got booed as he walked up, he had to stop speaking-the boos were drowning him out. So that looks like they are angry at him. And so good on Buckley for defending his player.
As Eddie said, by that stage Essendon fans were so angry they were booing everything. If sections of the crowd were booing Pendles they should hang their heads. He's a champ, a fair player, and seems like a good bloke. He deserved the medal too

No two were inside 30 metres, a third from Grundy was 65 out.
One happened at the top of the goal square. Before Stringer kicked a point
But don’t they cancel out the extremely dubious calls in Baguley and Guelfi’s favour which resulted in two goals directly from frees?

I think we all agree the umpiring was horrendous both ways, but I don’t think they were the reason Collingwood won and Essendon lost like the general theme seems to be amongst the trolls on here.

nah, he copped one in the forward 50 from memory. The one's in the forward line would have been handy too given he's very good at hitting up leads. Anyway, no guarantee the result would have been different. It's just very frustrating to watch howler after howler when you team is busting a gut to get back into the contest

Good logic.

Sure you did mate, doesn’t sound like you’re holding a grudge at all. :thumbsu:
The worst part of his one good game being against us is now you can't rightly mention he's no good without moronic pies supporters going on about being salty or something equally as dumb.

The original post was about Essendon getting 4 goals from frees to the pies zero

My point was if cox wasn't garbage the pies would have goals from frees. Where in that did i call him garbage for getting the free to begin with? Kicks directly in front that he sprayed, claiming Essendon got the rub just because they were more accurate from their frees is super dumb.

no, we can only blame ourselves for the loss. Shiel kicks a goal in the last or even hits a target and we are a chance

I thought Baguley's free was probably there. They were both wrestling but the wrestle ended up getting Baguley high. He may have milked it, but no more than Pendles and his flop

There were definitely three although I'd say one of the two further from the goal may have been the correct call.
In all instances bar one he went to ground / dropped the knees, so it’s rightfully play on.

Fair enough if tippa uses his short height to get out of tackles by going under them but if the tackler gets his head then it shouldn’t be penalised.

I was actually listening to the game on the radio so I didn't see the Stephenson HTB everyone's howling about. I just watched the last 2 mins of the game on Twitter and he had absolutely NO prior opportunity. Guelfi grabbed his arm as soon as he took possession. It wasn't the least bit contentious.

The main board on BigFooty is the absolute shits. 90% of people are either trolling or don't know the rules of the game.
