Not sure how Melbourne's backline will be able to contain Riewoldt Lynch Caddy Rioli Martin and co.

Their best hope is dominating possession and clearances. To be fair that's half a chance given Gawn will destroy Nankervis.

We struggle to bury teams even over the last 2 years.

Should have slaughtered Sydney last week but let them have a sniff all night, Melbourne have good players and the last thing we need is for them to think they have a chance and get some confidence.

Need to kick a few early and snuff out any hope they may have of winning.

Speaking of May it's a pity he isn't playing considering what happened last time Jack 'played' on Jack.

Another 186 definitely on the cards tonight...
I’d be very surprised if we even go close to kicking a score of 186, let alone a margin of 186 points. The last time we even kicked 170+ as an overall score was Round 21, 1996 when we kicked 187 points. We are just not that type of side in the recent era to begin with and we are just not accurate enough either. If we get a score over 100 points it would be a big deal considering that we haven’t done that in this H&A season yet. I think our points for ceiling in this game would probably be in the 80-99 points range.

This seems to be the reverse psychology thread so far...
Well it isn’t nice to act arrogant I guess and the reality is that unexpected things can happen. If one was arrogant, they’d be left looking like a fool if their team lost.

Richmond genuinely does struggle putting teams away by a 60+ margins though. For example, the most we have done to Carlton since they last made finals was 43 points and they have had two last place finishes. Meanwhile, we have made finals bar one year.

I’d love for Richmond to prove me wrong tonight but I have stopped expecting crushing wins. The big wins are usually just surprises nowadays. At least we have won far more than we have lost in the last couple of years so it isn’t a huge issue right now. The win tonight would be the main thing for us.

Anyone think Reiwoldt will have a monster game? Fantasy smokey on return from injury?
Still don’t really know how we’re going to set up with Lynch up there as well. Also given Jack is comparatively fresh after missing the last few weeks he may play up the ground more than ever and leave Lynch to play more or less out of the square. Not sure how that goes for fantasy but it certainly doesn’t bode well for him kicking a bag.

(Now that I’ve said that he’ll probably/hopefully kick 10)
