Is there any Giants fans here for a question?

Could Himmelberg move down back now that Riccardi has come through? Hasn't had the best season forward and thought he was good when he was moved down back last week.

Or do you still rate him more forward?

GWS have fans?

What's people's call? Should that have been a 50 to GWS? Clearly restricted from going back and taking his kick.
In 2020 that pretty much hasn't been a 50 all season, but it absolutely should be.
It's odd that the AFL claim to want to speed the game up and make it free-flowing, but such an obvious impediment to it - players being held up after taking a mark - gets ignored these days, when they used to be red hot on it for a while.
To me it's such an easy improvement in the game, and very little interpretation by the umps is needed. When a guy takes a mark, you immediately clear out. Hang onto the guy and it's 50. If a player not directly involved in a marking contest even touches the player who took the mark - that's 50 as well.
Closely-related is the intentional creeping over the mark that is equally rampant and easy to crack down on.

Might have been handy to have Coniglio out there tonight

You think?

Imagine paying a player a million bucks a year (or thereabouts), making them captain and dropping them for a must win game at the pointy end of the season. Don’t know about anyone else’s club, but Bontempelli would need to have a broken leg before he’d get dropped in those circumstances.

Thankfully GWS aren’t locked into their head coach for the next few years........

Good win Deez. Commiserations GWS.
I reckon that was exactly the kind of win the Deez needed to have. In a game where they mucked in for the whole four qtrs. Gutsy.

Not trying to be insulting or anything btw.
We've done the "gutsy win" a few times now, the issue is following it up. Wouldn't be too many Demons supporters surprised with a loss against Essendon.

Agree 100%. The Tigers are really good at exploiting this by scragging/holding/stepping over the mark pretty much every time (I don't blame them, they are just playing to how the games are umpired).

Went well beyond the usual contact after a mark, which isn’t paid often enough anyway.

It’s annoying at the best of times. Needs a crackdown. Just allows the defence to stream back and clog up the forward line.
Don't disagree that it needs a crackdown, but they couldn't possibly have pulled that one up after all the ones they let go :thumbsu:
