With Saints percentage, they'd have to have a pretty big loss and have some other unfavourable results to get knocked out of the 8.

I can't believe how flaky and unreliable the Giants have been, I think they're a rabble at the moment and Saints win.

Don’t think it has to be too unfavourable for us to drop out, it’s quite possible.

Assuming Dogs beat Freo and fairly regular scoring games Melbourne need to make up ~48 points.

So a 3 goal saints loss and a 5 goal Dees win against Essendon is pretty possible.

Saints just must win to make it a sure thing.

Saints would be very nervous - Giants have the talent to destroy anyone if everything clicks on the day. Fortunately for the boys from Moorabbin, GWS appears a fractured group who are itching for Mad Monday. Saints in a thriller.

If this isn't the most hotly contested, physical, and intense game of the round, and of the season so far, something is very wrong. Both clubs should be playing with insane desperation and hunger. No ifs, buts, or maybes, both sides absolutely need to win to makes the finals. No "cue in the rack" or "not showing all your cards" in this one.

Question is: who wants to play finals more?

I think the Saints do. I don't think GWS have enough mental toughness left in the tank to motivate them to win. A Grand Final smacking can leave some pretty deep scars. Saints haven't played finals in years and will be way more motivated to get there.

Saints by 19 points.

not sure if serious...

GWS aren't making it even with a win.

They needed to play with 'intensity' last 2 weeks but didn't give any *s.

They needed to play with 'intensity' last 2 weeks but didn't give any fu**s.

The Giants are still a reasonable mathematical chance.

While the chance is alive, they should be going full clip. If not, then they should expect to be hung out to dry by media and critics.

Hope the Sainters get up as I'd love for them to return to finals football. Love the old days at Moorabin and Plugger going berserk. Harvey winning b2b Brownlows and their brilliant run in 2004 with Fraser cracking the big ton. Prelim final the next year after R Harvey's heroics at Football Park against the Crows followed by an early exit in 05 coughing up a good lead in the wet against the Dees in an elimination game.

2008-11 produced more good football and '' what if '' moments coming so close to a premiership. I love the more recent history of the Saints. Get em back in the 8!
