Is Ziebell out a positive gain for North?

In his current form, yes.

Each game he got injured Thomas has near turned the game on it's head after he left the field.

So it will be interesting to see how he goes without Ziebell consuming a lot of that forward space.
 
Is Ziebell out injured an smokescreen for being dropped/omitted?

Get the feeling it is, isn't a good look announcing you have dropped your captain.

Yes, his obvious hamstring where he sat out the entire last quarter on ice against Hawthorn was a smoke screen devised for the football public from our PR department.
