Tomorrow night’s Western Australian AFL hub opener between Collingwood and Geelong is edging towards a sellout crowd at Optus Stadium.

The maximum capacity for the venue under current coronavirus restrictions is 28,500 fans at WA’s home of footy and as of 11:00 AM around 7000 tickets remain, with 4000 estimated to be left by the end of the day.

Apart from beating Collingwood most of the time at the G, we also beat the eagles easily on that big ground.

I would suggest that would be factually incorrect

Last 5 or 10 or 15 years - take your pick - i think the Magpies might be on the winning side of the ledger in games against the Cats at the MCG

Last 5 years 4-4
Last 10 years 9-9
Last 15 years 13-11 at the MCG, with the Cats ahead.

Thanks for that - the post i was replying to - stated " Geelong beat Collingwood most of the time at the MCG " and i knew that was wrong - and your stats confirm it

Splitting hairs really. Over the last 15 years Geelong have beaten Collingwood at the MCG most of the time. And over the last 5 years or 10 years Collingwood have not beaten Geelong most of the time.

Rain will suit Geelong you would think given Collingwood's proclivity to overuse it.

Hawkins in good enough form to negate and keep Moore honest.

Cats by 26.
