Embarrassed for McCluggage. Flop and a soft one at that.

Wasn’t even the flop. Just that he ran into Corr. Can’t give away a free if you dont initiate contact.

Should have seen the one by Caldwell earlier.

Is it because you publicly nailed your flag to the “Lions are no good away from home” mast?

Or nah?🌈
Brisbane won there last year too......can't win on the large grounds

Plastic been melting under heat since 2016
The Giants smashed your blokes by 10 goals in the September heat last year
Then they had a couple of away finals victories after that. Beat the Lions & Pies by a kick. Not exactly "melting"

And they don't get kissed on the dick by the umpires like your blokes do every weekend

Gardiner, Oscar, and McStay aren’t great.
McStay is good as long as he isn't kicking at goal. Oscar plays his role just fine. Gardiner usually plays well, although he's constantly being put on forwards who are bigger than him so he does get outmarked sometimes. But I put that on tactics rather than him not being good.

Ah Chee was worse than any of the three you mentioned.

Calling Gardiner a dud yikes.

He would comfortably be your best defender. Your team definitely needed him yesterday.

You are high. He’s protected by the system. Put him behind our midfield and he’d bleed goals. We have five defenders who average more intercept possessions. He’s literally there to punch the ball.

They got momentum towards the end of the year and were too good on their home deck for us last year in that final.

And don’t even try and claim we get kissed on the d**k by umpires. At least our coach doesn’t cry out for a mid season rule change. And still have your team dishing up dog sh*t every week. You’re in a world of pain.

Hipwood is only 22 years old. Has 3 more years of development before you could say he has started to hit some consistency, never mind a peak which is probably 5years away.

Hipwood turns 23 in 2 months. It's his 5th AFL season. At the same age (to use a recent example of a young 200cm+ forward), Joe Daniher took 153 marks (43 contested) and kicked 65 goals in 2017, and had improved steadily year on year to get to that point.

Most player's primes are ages 25-29 (usually 7th-11th seasons). He's closer to his prime than his starting point. If Hipwood going to be anything more than "big potential", he really needs to start turning it on consistently soon.

Granted, Hipwood finished the game well today, and overall is looking a bit better this year than previously, but he's still behind schedule IMO if there's hope for him to be some sort of star or genuine big marking target.

Gardiner has played some of his best football when we were an absolute rabble.

Underrated, tough, committed and plays through pain every week.

The sort of unflashy player whose value is lost in the blind spot of opposition supporters.

Yours included.

The Joel Patfull of our current side. Sadly for Joel, the side he played in was far worse.

He said he was better than Saad, Ridley, Hooker and Hurley. Two all Australians and two who would be in the squad this year. He intercepts less than any of them and does less with the ball than any of them.

He plays a role very well. Like premiership players Fletcher Roberts, Hamling, Barass etc before him.

Would any of the Brisbane side get selected for Essendon?

Most of the midfield. Cameron, Rayner up forward, maybe Hipwood but not when Daniher is fit. Probably not many in the back line though. Andrews would be the best though.
