Congratulations Geelong , Was a dominant performance for the 2nd week in a row and the players look like they are really focussed and determined to make 2020 the year of the cat. Hoping its a great Grand Final with tigers winning but am not s confident as i was last year.

I like the Lions and would have been a fairytale story for them to make the GF and win but i would have been more confident against them than the Cats who have experience and big weapons as well as matchup well against Richmond. But i feel for all the cocky lions supporters on BF must be just so hard watching your team produce such an impotent performance when they needed to make it count . maybe next year

I'll have to go check, but I think its the first time since 2011 that the Cats have won back to back finals.

this year has held back the development of some of our young tall forwards for absolutely no benefit. The chickens came home to roost tonight and while we were smashed by a far superior midfield on the night, the abject performance of McStay didn’t help. Fagan’s problem is that no matter how badly McStay plays, he gets selected the next week. In the last round of the year against Carlton, McStay had 5 Disposals at 20% Efficiency, took one mark and laid 3 tackles. The game was an absolute stinker. What does Fagan do? He gives him another chance against Richmond in the first final. That is a coaching failure. Against Richmond McStay has 3 Disposals at 66% , doesn’t lay a tackle, kicks his one and only goal of the finals series and is generally invisible. Fagan’s response, select him for the Preliminary Final. Tonight McStay probably played his worst game ever, which is saying something. For the record he had 3 disposals at 0% Efficiency, kicked one behind, took two marks and had two tackles. This is my one and only criticism of Fagan, he lacks imagination and is captive to the idea that if he sticks with McStay he will magically come good one day and he will be vindicated. It a flawed approach and Fagan’s biggest coaching failure. Brisbane effectively went in tonight a man down. Add Stef Martins game, 6 Disposals at 0% Efficiency and countless turnovers, and you could say were two players down tonight.

Their midfield, apart from Neale, is B grade at best. Zorko isn’t with it, Robinson doesn’t hurt as much as others think. Lyons have had a great run. Berry is meh, McCluggage is as damaging. Feel like this is about as good as it gets unless they trade in a star midfield or forward. Hipwood is still miles off it.

He's paid to get results not have perspective. The guy was grinning and giggling with reporters after the most shattering loss of his coaching career. Players played with a similar level of investment tonight.

Even if I wasn't shattered I'd at least act as though I was distraught with my team's effort.

They only lost 3 games in the H&A, but having even away games played in their home state gave them a huge advantage. It remains to be known if it was a regular season with games being played all over the country... would Brisbane have even made top 4?

Reverse the tables and imagine every game for Geelong was played in VIC and interstate teams 'home games' were all played in VIC too. I'm quite certain that Geelong and Richmond would have finished 1 and 2. Collingwood would have been in the top 4 too. As for Port, Brisbane and West Coast.... I'm certain if they couldn't play games at home and were in a hub they would all struggle to make the top 8.. memories of West Coast rounds 1 to 5.

It's not about being a sore loser, just showing you're a little downbeat after a completely shattering loss, barely putting up a fight, missing the opportunity for a once in a lifetime home GF.

Fagan is talking like it's a foregone conclusion that Brisbane improve every year over the next 5 years, but that's not realistic and selling dreams to the supporter base.

Likely this was their one and only chance for a premiership.

Fagan has done an outstanding job at Brisbane. He will be hurting and will let his players see the hurt behind closed doors. If you are wanting a coach to display their true emotions during a press conference, go and watch a Rugby League one.

Seriously are cooked??? Collingwood ahead of Brisbane??? Brisbane finished top 2 last year.. They are definately a top 4 side, they also beat Richmond in a final... Port didn't really play in Adelaide for awhile as i recall and they were on top all year and was very close to a GF..

The game tonight didn't look the standard of last night's match. But do we say, that's because Geelong controlled the game or because Brisbane couldn't impact. TBH, the easy option would be to say well Richmond are best, Port second best, Geelong third and Brisbane fourth. Geelong fans aren't going to agree with that.

Well, give us another crack at Port in Adelaide, and I’d be confident we beat them.

Anyway we will see who the best team is next week, I feel Richmond and Geelong are both deserving of being in the GF.

Awesome Catters far too good. I was worried facing the Lions where they're a force at the GABBA but believed in us after our stirring demolition of the Magpies. We trounced them earlier in the season up at the SCG and with the form Danger's been in, got more confident as the week progressed. I had this Grand Final marked out a fair while ago and after our narrow loss at Optus against the Eagles saw the composure we possessed and displayed strong unity with a solid game plan. No Ablett and Selwood in that game too. My belief wavered after our loss to Port as it did with the Tigers chances losing to Brizzy. But * we've both displayed balls of steel to regroup after those disappointing losses.

. After so much heartache and it must be said piss poor performances, we're now back on the radar and have a shot at glory. Going to be bloody hard to beat a formiddable outfit in the polished Tigers but so good to make it back for the first time since 2011.
