Probably one of the matches of the round with both sides wanting to make amends after disappointing seasons.

Simon Goodwin would just be one of those coaches all the players hate and talk s**t behind

What was that from Chandler. Just keep running and either kick an easier goal or handball it over the top

Just watching this pre-season and with quarters seemingly going 30 minutes it's ridiculous to keep shortening the interchange cap, I can see a mountain more soft tissue injuries thanks to fatigue.

They want more scoring, but then they want to bring more fatigue into the game

Hard to see where the success comes for Melbourne. Gawn, Petracca, Oliver are absolute studs but it falls away so badly. No pace, no dynamic play.

What? Literally have one starting midfielder playing and he spent half the game up forward because our forwards weren't playing.

No Oliver, Viney, Brayshaw in the middle and no Brown, Weideman or Pickett up forward.

Literally a s**t assessment on your part.

There is still little dynamism there. They aren’t the types to tear zones apart with marking, line breaking or elite kicking. Pickett only exciting young talent coming through, Jackson but not sure if he’ll be more than a ruck/forward pinch hitter.

You've taken s**t assessment and gone to a new level, stop.

We got smashed in the midfield today because we had no midfield going up against an amazing midfield that was basically full strength, this is just a knee-jerk reaction based off a practice game.

This isn’t based exclusively off your game but last few years, the weight of preseason performances and seeing the young vibrant talent in the teams ahead of you. Kids had a chance to shine today, not win but show what they can do and there was nothing. There was also nothing to suggest any development in game plan.

Every team in your age/experience bracket has more young talent and more depth of senior talent. You're in the position we were in 4 years ago, middle of the road with no way of getting out. I’d be ropable in your position with how Goodwin is wasting elite top end talent.

Yeah you're trying to assess a list you know absolutely nothing about and failing miserably, we are in no way, shape or form in a similar position than Essendon was.

Again this was a practice game with Petracca who spent a lot of time forward because of injuries to our key forwards and likes of Sparrow, Jordon and Harmes in the middle going up against Bont, Macrae, Williams, Libba.

Yeah but the person is right. Even when you have had them all playing you seem to one demential and one paced. And subsequently loose more then you win. Lucky you have what I think is the best back double in May and Lever.

Dogs played really well yesterday but one could argue it was poor preparation playing a depleted midfield and a generally disinterested side overall. Not going to have that luxury against Collingwood next week.

Having said that, very concerning signs for the Dees.

🤔🤔

I feel like the only poor part of our game was not capitilizing on periods of dominance with a combination of poor set shots and poor forward entries costing us a bigger margin.
