Everyone picked us bottom 4.

To finish 8th any Bomber fan would have been pleasantly surprised especially with the off season losses and a rookie coach.

But this was at least a final and the chance for the playing list to get a reality check on how much better we need to be and a few pieces of the puzzle that still need addressing.

Full credit to the Doggies with their experienced mids and better skills in not so great conditions got a well deserved win.

Bomber fans be disappointed but stand tall. Still a way to go. But **** me we have some absolute guns and some young diamonds in this team.

This hopefully spurs everyone on to the next level and where we need to get to. And anyone can't say Truck hasn't had a great 1st year and has us going in the right direction whilst some other clubs are clearly spiralling out of control.

No love for Wade Skipper?
I liked Wade. A ruckman in a KPP's body. Had a crack.

The biggest cheer of Peter Street's career was a game in front of about 17,000 at Docklands against Fremantle when he had a running bounce. I was there, man...

I once yelled at peter to stop calling for the ball in the pocket and instead go to the goal square ( from an incoming shot from outside 50) … he turned around , put up his hand nodded and said “ thanks “ then headed to the square .. guy was really coachable !

That's your biased opinion. I'm a neutral supporter and for me it was:
1st goal was probably a free kick.
2nd goal was soft and innocuous. Non-call...especially in a final.
3rd goal was too soft. Weightman basically engaged the wrestle himself and fell backwards to sell the contact. Also not a free in a final. Weightman could've stayed upright if he wanted to.
4th goal was the worst of the lot. Basically a corrupt call and that was proof. Since when aren't you allowed to push somebody. Horrendous.

You weren't a NEUTRAL 5 weeks ago when we beat the Dees and you had a long winded whine about us in that MD thread too.

You don't like us, it's OK.

Has that chirpy prick Devon Smith stopped mouthing off yet? Essendon would be good showing some leadership and trading this guy out. Can ruin culture.

Don’t really think Weightman should cop criticism for the incorrect frees he was paid.

The only one of the 4 he engineered/played for was the Laverde one where he hugged the arm to make it look he was held which is a move all players seem to utilise lately.

All the others were just clear umpire mistakes not oversold acting or anything.

How can ppl be saying a 50 point loss was the fault of the umpires. Other than the Weightman push in the back which was a BS decision what else was outlandishly bad? What about the 2 soft 50s to the dons which gifted 2 shots at goal? We sweeping them under the rug?

spot on mate. Essendon were absolutely destroyed by a better team in the second half. Pretty simple. Didn’t kick a goal for a half of football. Don’t think the umpires had anything to do with that. Might be a bit of deflection by some at Essendon after yet another finals embarrassment. Dogs were top 2 for most of the year before their late dip in form. They are now getting back to some form. Today was just absolutely reflective of the gap between these 2 teams

the last free kick to weightman was actually something off the ball possibly a push in the back that happened to dunkley in the foreground , the umpire mentions push free kick here greater advantage(like downfield)

No you’re misunderstanding. Push here to Weightman but because he hanballed backwards it’s a greater advantage not to pay downfield is what the umpire said.

They were soft and Bomber fans should feel hard done by, still it's not an excuse to go onto his Instagram and start writing homophobic comments over it.
