The problem that Brisbane have with Geelong is the air IMO. They get dominated there too much whenever they play them. The one win that they had in 2019 over Geelong saw Brisbane take that away from them (91 marks - 53 marks Brisbane’s way). They need to do a similar thing this week. Alternatively, they can win by pressuring them into turning the ball over like Richmond do, but it’s hard to do that with the new rules favouring marking sides. Even Richmond who beat Geelong in that way struggled to do that against them this year.

Don’t know who I want to win and who will win, but I expect that at least one side will put on a really good show.

But your only losses were away games to Crows, Swans & Demons
Crows: Red hot off pre-season and juiced on confidence, we had one month less time to prepare and was very rusty/unfit. Missing Cameron which has made a huge difference (look at our record before/after)
Swans: Not sure what happened there. We led by 30 at QT and also should've won with a mark paid on the siren (oh well)
Demons: Top team on the ladder so no surprises, again missing Cameron which made us play more defensive rather than offensive.

If we played the Crows or Swans again I'd be confident that we would beat them with our current side. Melbourne I'm looking forward to playing in Rd23 down at the Cattery. Should be a good test for us, just as Brisbane at the GABBA will be for us this Thursday.

Lions off 5 day break from Tasmania. Could equalize the home ground advantage. O'Connor to Neale again ? Maybe Zorko, Lyon? Big dogs for Brisbane up front might be an issue for cats with Blics up the field. close game

Agree with all that
Just pointing out that they were all in fact away games
It is a fact that playing away but more to the point playing interstate is more difficult for all teams
Lions have lost 4 games.
Round 1 v Swans at home. Both the Cats & Lions were expected to win those round 1 games. Swans finished 16th and Crows 18th in 2020
The Lions 3 other losses all away against Cats, Demons, & Dogs
Can't wait to attend Thursday evening should be a cracker

Not sure the five day break will be an issue given we're fresh off the bye. I still expect O'Connor goes to Neale. If he doesn't he'll get 30+. Would be interesting if he tries to tag Lyon. Has anyone ever tried? Probably not worth tagging, wasn't in the suns best 22. Lions by 19.

I feel like we are a bit lean in the midfield with Lachie still adjusting since his injury. A fair few young guys with way too low TOG as well makes me think the Cats will run over us like Melb did the 2nd half.
