Lol, several of those are utter duds
Right coaching and they could turn into really solid handy role players. Curnow, McKay, Walsh, Cripps, Weitering and Jones hold up the spine. Jones has been beaten in a one on one contest minimally all year.

Criticise all you like, and plenty are doing their typical ‘Carlton are s**t’ and being all hyper emotional after seeing them lose, but a good coaching program with that squad and they improve significantly. It’s the effort and a defensive mindset they need. The midfield are all front runners and their best leader has been Marc Murphy.

Curnow - could be anything
McKay - already elite
De Koning - could be anything
Walsh - already elite
Cripps - very good
Weitering - close to elite
Williams - very good
Saad - very good
Dow - could be anything
O’Brien - ok
Silvagni - great role player
Kennedy - ok
Jones - hardly gets beaten. Solid FB.

That’s your core group. That’s a top 8 list with that core.

I don't think so, if they all reach their zenith around the same time then maybe !!

C. Curnow - we hope so but who really knows ??
McKay - still has some brain-fades in front of goal
De Koning - still has a fair way to go but we are hopeful
Walsh - already elite (correct)
Cripps - has gone backwards
Weitering - close to elite (nah, is already there)
Williams - a major disappointment thus far
Saad - can be rather loose at times
Dow - still has a fair way to go but we are hopeful
O’Brien - may not be at the club next year
Silvagni - has some serious limitations and a short-term future
Kennedy - still has a long way to go but is "robust"
Jones - only has a season or two left in the game

Refreshing to see a realistic assessment from a Carlton supporter.

Wholeheartedly disagree. Plenty of upside. Plenty. In typical Carlton fashion though you’ll sack Teague and throw a chequebook at AC. You’ll expect him to fix everything like you did with MM. Your President has offered Teague no support. The review should be on your assistant and football department. Teague is only in year three. Last year was an outlier. If you’re going to sack him, then sack anyone who appointed him. You’ve got to own it.

Just saw the Jacob Townsend post game interview. I still love Towner, bloody legend, great interview.

The difference is, Fremantle will truly believe they can play finals, and will front up accordingly tomorrow.

They're actually as good a chance as anyone to finish 8th.

As for Carlton, hmmmm...

Pies are still a chance to finish below Carlton. Your obsession continues

Pies will very likely finish below Carlton, for what the second time in 20 years.

The difference is that we have shown we can rebound quickly and contend for flags.

Carlton take 5 years to build to a 9 win season, before going through the whole cycle again.

It's a beautiful thing to watch unfold.

Anyway, this thread is not about Collingwood.

Fadge, you post more on Carlton topics, than your own sorry club. Get over it.

If you think Collingwoods ship is in better order than Carltons, then you are kidding yourself.
If we hit 20 consecutive years of mediocrity, you will be right.

Collingwood currently in year one.

Only question is, how many more consecutive years of mediocrity do Carlton still have ahead of them?
