We lost our FB in the second quarter... Cameron would have made fu** all difference to the result.

Not arguing that or disagreeing but it sounded a lot like we had one idea going forward and Melbourne held hawkins beautifully and without even Rohan to go to we were bereft of ideas. That’s not an injury or suspension excuse a good side should have other ways to score. Just saying that the player likely to make the most difference right now is Cameron and we need him desperately

Hey Rioli has three premiership medals, so bare cupboards are apparently no barrier to success.
Short term you are right. It’s guys like Hawkins, Danger, Selwood that carry you to flags. Not guys like Parfitt (or Rioli as per your example).

Longer term guys like Parfitt being your best player isn’t going to do it for you.

Hopefully you guys win a flag over the next couple of years while the older guys are around and you won’t have to worry about the leaner years in the future.

Going inside forward wasn't great for you but it wasn't your issue. It also doesn't help that your coach sat an extra man inside our forward 50 for the whole game rather than keeping 6 up forward. The fact he played a loose defender in the last quarter when you needed to win the game was mystifying from a coaching perspective

Your issue was your midfield looks slow and it's not like they are a contested beast of a unit either.

Yep, agree. Hawkins is still playing terrific footy and Selwood having a good year, but we’d surely need a lot of luck to pick up a flag soon. The younger guys are shaping up quite well but we don’t have anyone like those guys coming though. We’ve stayed in contention for a long time, had a great run, so can’t complain when we do eventually drop a bit.

Honestly Geelong are better off playing 1 man short than have Rohan on the ground

This guy has stolen an afl career

Look there’s no doubt it’s been underwhelming but he’s been ok for us in relative proportion to his career on a whole. He does at least offer something of a target.
Over 2019 & 2020 he has played 38 games in 1 of the top 4 teams in the league averaging 8 touches a game 3 marks with less than 2 tackles and just over 1 goal.

Playing in the geelong foward line with players like Selwood,Dangerfield,Duncan,Guthrie delivering the amount of ball
its really extremely underwhelming
