Eagles away, getting dark in twilight game, and it being 10-11 degrees right now in Melbourne (something they didn't get exposed to much in 2020), maybe had a little bit to do with it. But these fadeouts have always been a latent feature of this squad, going back to Woosha's last year. Liam Ryan for example looked very lacking in energy to me at times last week, something didn't seem right with him.

Are West Coast fans seriously blaming the umpires for that? Embarrassing and pathetic.

West Coast lost because they were mentally weak and got thoroughly outplayed by the better team. Liam Duggan sh*tting his pants and dropping an easy mark was as soft as it gets.

No. West Coast 100% deserved to lose. Pathetic performance.

Go back and read the first few pages. Endless whinging about free kicks paid to WC, who in all honestly weren't even that good in the first half. Defensive intensity was atrocious for most of the game, and we repeatedly made soft turnovers under no pressure to gift St Kilda goals. We efficiently converted a small number of inside 50s to build a lead.

The umpiring in the second half was still a joke.

Is Caroline Wilson going to write 20 articles about the concussed player staying on?
I reckon someone should.
It's the same old thing with the player that was laid out on the ground for a good minute shakes off the doc and he just trundled off to the boundary.
The player was very obviously not right and should have been taken away immediately.

People will say we have to trust the doctors and we shouldn't question them. The reason they're not supposed to be questioned is they're expected to make the hard, correct call, it's their duty and responsibility.

West Coast is just soft as butter without Shuey and Yeo let alone neither.
Yep. Kelly, Sheed and Redden weren’t there when the game was there to be won. Kelly particularly disappointing as you would expect more from him.

Nic Nat also should have dominated against a limp opposition. Doesn’t seem to be covering ground so well at the moment.

That was just...

You forgot about Gaff.
I thought he had a Gaff like game. He’s great when the team is up and running and less noticeable when they are struggling.

The stadium blunts his style somewhat but I didn’t expect him to get in and win the game for you. Gaff is great when the others do the hard work in the middle and he can utilise his run. He didn’t get that service today.

They had a tough game against the Suns R1 in mid 30s temp which they needed to win in the last. Then the Bulldogs thriller. Then their first half against Port. Since then, their tickets look spent. Couple that with the Saints getting smashed last week and being down a couple in the second half this week and therefore being hyper-motivated. Congrats to the Saints for finding a way, exposing vulnerabilities and taking over like they did. A loss like that where you get overrun by 9 goals can be worth more than one loss down the road.

Or if we didn’t waste so many shots for goal.

15.12 isn't bad. A lot of very easy shots in the first half courtesy of dumb WC turnovers. If we are going to kick to your players 60m out under no pressure then it makes like easy for King to lead to 30 out straight in front and take easy marks.

Issue was that we were picking off the Saints inside 50s easily because you were going long and high. When the ball went wide or low and flat to a contest or was scrubbed in along the ground we had nothing. Tackles inside 50 were 18-6 for the game.
