Yeah, that's it, your side gives away frees because it's first to the ball.

We give away a lot of free kicks from being aggressive & playing on the edge

There are times like last week when we don’t get a good run from the umps

It’s definitely not one or the other ... it’s a combination of both

Did you see the teams?

Marshall is playing, backed up by Carlisle who has been more than good as the alternate ruck the last two games. Tigers playing one ruck.

Key defenders: Howard or Carlisle for Lynch and Battle for Riewoldt.

Have another look bro! :(

We are screwed. Tigers by 55 now. Hardwick might play to give dusty a rest. My as well. We have Paul Hunter and Luke Dunstan as our ruckman and on baller. ouch. SANFL seconds v AFL tonight.

Marshall and Jones huge, huge outs.

Paul Hunter wasn’t AFL standard in the first two rounds and he comes back in to replace Marshall, and last week Jones had 10 clearances, 12 contested possessions and went at 88% efficiency, and he provides our midfield with a real point of difference, with his explosive burst speed.

Replacing him is Dunstan, who is the opposite of quick, and hasn’t played since R1 last year.

We now have way too much of the same thing in the midfield, with Jones and Gresham (9 clearances in his last full game, in R2) missing, and Steele, Crouch, Bytel and Dunstan in there and all inside “bulls”, who lack burst speed.

These key personnel losses is like our final with them last year all over again.

How serious?
Pretty serious.

The 1-2 punch of Ryder and Marshall was our real point of difference last year, and neither of them are playing tonight, and Jones and Gresham are the two that have a point of difference in our midfield, with their speed and in Gresham’s case agility/evasiveness/creativity.

Now we have someone who has proved to be sub-standard in the ruck and an extremely one-paced and same-same inside brigade. Plus missing other best 22 guys in Hannebery, Paton and Geary.

And we’re off just a 5 day break!

If you’re not able to beat us under these circumstances it would be reasonable to ask some questions.

I think we'll stick to the marathon plan, we'll either just do enough for a small win, or lose. Don't see us playing that "well" if that makes sense.

Yep, agree 100%, still a danger game though. It’s teams with players out that are dangerous sometimes, the others lift intensity . Full team lifting is always better together even with a few best out.

He's in his third season with the Saints and he's played 13 games total. Bit of a stretch to consider him best 22 IMO.
