Indigenous guernsey
Carlton players will again be wearing the Club’s Indigenous guernsey designed by Shanai Kellett. Kellett has a special link to Indigenous Round being the great granddaughter of Sir Doug Nicholls and she wanted the design to feature as many Indigenous stories from the Club as possible. The guernsey is a reflection of reconciliation between the Carlton Football Club and its Indigenous players.

Gift exchange
The Club’s gift to Collingwood comprises of a coolamon which is a multi-purpose dish used by Indigenous people to carry water, fruits, nuts and other types of bush tucker, topped with two boab nuts. The boab nuts are carved from the Kimberley region which spreads from Timber Creek in the Northern Territory to Broome in Western Australia. The boab nuts have been supplied by the Artlandish Aboriginal Art Gallery and the coolamon artist is Ricky Baldwin who is a Gunai Kurnai man from Gippsland.

Sir Doug Nicholls Round Guernsey - Collingwood

In celebration of Sir Doug Nicholls Round, Collingwood’s guernsey will feature a design by Tyson Austin and Troi Ilsley, both emerging Aboriginal artists who are proud Wamba Wamba and Gunditjmara people residing in Naarm (Melbourne) on Wurundjeri country.

The artwork tells the story of the Collingwood Football Club entering a new and exciting chapter. The falling feathers are symbolic of a Magpie shedding its old feathers to be replaced by new ones – reflective of the current changes of the football club. Relatively new appointments of a new president and a senior coach has been a dramatic change for the club, but an exciting period for the club in growing its new feathers and entering a new era.

The club will also continue to shed its past, making way for the next generation to thrive and flourish.

The back of the jumper features a Coolamon providing a safe place for Magpie eggs to hatch and be nurtured. This is symbolic of the new generation waiting to make their mark and take the club into an exciting new direction. It is also symbolic of the club's involvement and support for the Aboriginal community as the club embarks on a new chapter and increased commitment to the community.

Collingwood theme song in traditional language

The Collingwood theme song, ‘Good Old Collingwood Forever’, will be played in the local Woi Wurrung language of the Wurundjeri people performed by Melissa Kerr. The song will be showcased at half-time.

Deadly Choices

In April Collingwood partnered with Deadly Choices with the intent to close the health and life expectancy gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous populations and improve the life outcomes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Collingwood will show their support for the Deadly Choices campaign today. The squad will wear Deadly Choices t-shirts in the warm-up. For more information on the partnership please visit the club’s website.

Both sides have been great to watch this year. The pies more so from the point of view of exceeding expectations but they take the game on and it makes for attractive to watch footy. The blues win this high scoring contest with Curnow having a field day.

Hopefully Voss is keeping the players in check and they aren't listening to the current media hype and getting ahead of themselves.
The playing group seems a lot more mature than previous years, but it doesn't mean we are immune to a bit of arrogance.

We should win this by 5-6 goals, but stranger things have happened.
Either way, we go into the bye either 9-2 or 8-3, and likely no lower than 4th (unless Freo get a shock win over the Dees), which is a big win.

I think the Blues in a hard fought game by 3 goals. But would not be surprised if the Pies win as well. Could be the best game of the round, decent crowd expected too.

Actually never been so confident. Pies will win this by 50 plus points in a canter. The Blues struggle with mid size forwards like Billy who will slot home 6. When Intensity lifts the Blues go missing. Pies bring the pressure of last week and the Blues will fold. All pressure on the Blues with an extra two days rest, Pies coming back from Perth and the Blues being significant favourites. Pies nothing to lose. Sets up the ideal Pies backs to the wall win.

"immune to a bit of arrogance" Your clubs foundations is built on arrogance, it is Carlton`s DNA .

Whenever we lose again, it will be said we are overrated and not that good.

We should win, but I think if we played the game 10 times we would win 6-7 times, but its by no means a sure thing.

Weirdly I think it helps us that Pies beat Freo, drums any complacency out of us.
