Haven't been watching a lot but gee North reminds me of melbourne under neeld bad. The list isn't that bad but the way they play.
The list IS that bad. Its actually worse in defence, if teams decided to really attack against North pretty much anyone down to Essendon could score 200 points. Although it shouldn't be quite that bad in attack.

Err, we won a spoon in 2010.

We also had the Ken Judge years, pre-Worsfold.

People will keep buying memberships, because they don't want to spend another 5 years on a waiting list again.
A spoon huh...

Try winning a few of those in a row, or not making finals for 20 years

You've been spoilt so far, I can't recall the Eagles ever missing finals 3 years in a row

Which is exactly what a Tassie team could do.
Sorry, but the Tassie team does add another 11 matches to the fixture.....whether that equates to a better fixture for the AFL not sure.... you inevitably lose some previous match ups. Each club plays 18 teams once and 4 twice.... instead of the 17 and 5 breakdown we have now.

Still 9 games every week though. AFL only cares about those sweet broadcast $$$, hence last Thursday night's game...

19 clubs x 11 home games .....gives you 11 more matches to sell and a capacity to spread the fixture thru the week....so it's not ground breaking but it is more product....... whether its a better product for the broadcasters not sure...

For example the AFL would make a lot more from Collingwood playing Brisbane or Sydney twice a year but with Tassie in one of those matches will have to be ditched in favour of Tassie v Collingwood ( ie Coll will always play Carl, Ess, Rich twice a year)....because of this reality the Tassie team is a long way from over the line.

Well not really. 19 team comp means extra cost but same revenue (9 games a week).

I was hoping to imply that Tassie were the 18th team. Obviously failed.

Probably the only financial advantage from a Tassie team (without a 20th team to boost media value) is the number of Tasmanians living in Melbourne.
Quite possibly more than in Hobart, and more likely to swap teams than many living in Tassie.
Add that to thise who would take them as a second-team and a Tasmanian side would draw as many "away" fans living in Melbourne as the remains of South and Fitzroy supporter base. The big Victorian clubs would almost certainly play Tassie at home to boost ticket revenue flowing to big clubs over hosting GWS, GC, Port, Freo; and rarely travel to the island state.

Holy duck they won the hitouts 60 to 12 and only just won the clearances by 2.

That is farcical.
You might want to check the stats from other games this round before getting too excited. Start with Richmond vs Port. There is little connection between winning hitouts and winning clearances.

Just looked it up.

Most marks in a game is 181 by Richmond in 2006. They still only managed 10 goals for the game.

J Bowden - 20 marks
P Bowden - 15
A Kellaway - 15
K Pettifer - 15
T Simonds - 13
B Deledio - 11

Must have been a zillion kicks and marks in the back half going backwards.
