Not looking forward to this one.

I am. Great opportunity to test ourselves against a fellow top 4 aspirant.

We're thread bare down back but our midfield and forward lines are still relatively intact. Still a very capable side despite the injuries.

I'm in two minds about this one.
No Pittonet still, which is going to hurt having TDK (starting to struggle a bit from the grind of being #1 ruck for so long) and SOS (obviously not a genuine ruck and just providing a body to go up) vs Darcy and Lobb.
Losing another KPD means that Kemp has to come in to help out Young, which isn't an ideal 1-2 combo for the 2 KPD roles.
Our midfield needs to be switched on and get back to some kind of early season form, which they haven't been lately.

With the ruck contest basically conceded already, if our mids can't win the clearance battle, then our weakened defence will be under attack and this could get nasty.
Having said that, think we're a sneaky chance for a close win, or Freo in a blowout. Regardless, there's nothing we can do about our bigger outs for the next 3-4 weeks, so just gotta knuckle down and see how we go. Might as well try and battle harden the team in the lead up to finals.

Great for Freo to get some Saturday afternoon exposure in Melbourne, will be good to see what they look like these days, do they still have that little fella? Ballantyne?
Will Bootsma be playing? Will be interesting who he matches up on...

And I always thought those "rent free" posts were dumb af. I can see the value now.

50/50 sort of game for me, if we turn up to play we should be able to break even in the midfield, blunt their forward line and win.

Freo should be winning this one on the back of their tall timber forward.
If Carlton play like they did last week, using their midfield and half forwards way up the ground to try and help their undermanned defence, I can see Ryan and a few others having a field day with intercept marking and repeat entries, eventually the dam wall will break.

But big picture. Really excited to see these two teams over the next 3-5 year. Have a very evenly matched group of core players on the up.

Brayshaw vs Walsh will be worth the price of admission for years to come, even with inflation.
