Well normally a hanger isn't a free against but normally also the coaches twin isn't in charge of the umps in a 'professional' sports league. It is what it is though I guess.

Yeah that’s what it was. It was Brad Scott who also instructed them to pay a free for the exact same infringement at the other end of the field five minutes earlier

Literally the exact same thing happened down the other end a minute or so earlier. Cats mark 10m out and umps pay a free against Hawkins because Grimes took a dive even though neither were in the contest.

What a great game.

Super impressed by our team considering we had Prestia, Cotchin, Balta and Lambert missing.

Blooding 2 first year players and three second year players as well.

When Prestia got elbowed off the ball I thought that was it, but this side stood up.

A win would have been amazing, but the effort was even more impressive for me.

Shows we can match it against top teams. Just need to win enough games to make the eight and be healthy at the pointy end. We can win this from anywhere.

Stewart was completely out of character and he will have a month to think about his mistake. Hope Scott doesn’t try to defend him.

No, not at all. Cotchin elected to bump Shiel, hit him in the head which is an automatic suspension. Unless your name is Cotchin and you're playing a GF the week after.

learning is fun!

Discipline? You do realise that when Stewart ran passed the ball and knocked out Prestia, not only was it not a free kick, but they played on the game over Prestia getting helped by the trainers not knowing what planet he's on, with a Cats goal not long after.

But yeh, it was your "discipline"....
Shows how undisciplined your doctors are. They should have told the umpires to stop the game
Wonder how big the fine will be for Richmond not taking Tarrant off for a concussion test at the end of the second quarter is going to be

Of course. 'Pretty good'. Eleven goal loss to this supposedly uncompetitive Geelong team. A hellacious choke against GWS and gave up a 5 goal lead to WC the year before.

Finals are to be won. There is actually no % like in h&a incase you haven't noticed? Don't care that much for 'competitive'. Our w/l in finals has been the issue.
Just because there's no %, doesn't mean it's OK to throw in the towel after 10 minutes like you did in the 2016, 2017 and 2021 prelims

Disgraceful efforts

Amazing game, Stewart will be a big loss for Geelong for the next few weeks. I can't see him getting less than 3, but that's football. It's a contact sport and these incidents happen. The big problem for Geelong is his importance to the team and he is critical to their chances. He'll cop weeks, but will be back. No point in anyone arguing the point with Richmond supporters over frees or anything about the game actually, most Tigers fans have tiny minds.

Tigers fans need to remember that Prestia going down was actually the tonic that forced you to switch the magnets around. Before that, we were very happy with our matchups. Baker going into the middle was an absolute game changer, and his intensity is what nearly got you guys over the line.

Cracking game and one of the best I've seen this year.
That is some to tier level spin.

Same as the fine that port adelaide got when butters and jonas clashed heads

Cotchin won the ball, Shiel didn’t and was collateral. The dog today elbowed a defenceless bloke when the ball wasn’t in play. Completely different, if you can’t see that you have no idea.

Bit sad they've still got such a chip on their shoulder after winning 3 of the last 5 flags.

Supporters for any other side would gladly trade places with them.
To be fair it’s the vocal minority that make them look like total flogs. Some people get too tribal with football and are embarrassed and take the light hearted digs at their favourite football team and treat them as personal attacks.

People gotta lighten up, even when Carlton have a bad loss I look for positives in individual performances and move on. Plenty of good footy to watch even when your side is going pretty poorly.

Cotchin still elected to bump and bumped Shiel in the head. "Winning the ball" doesn't mean you are allowed to bump someone in the head.

Stewart did not elbow Prestia, he bumped him - elbow tucked in. He clearly wasn't trying to hit him in the head. He did and will get weeks - unlike Cotchin.

Ground dimensions made a big comeback in the third term but narrow boundaries really came to the fore for that Henry goal
Well done on such an emphatic win.
Look forward to playing you later in the season with all your players back.

Elbowed? Lol.

No
Shiel chose not to try and protect himself.
Cotchin got his hands on the footy first and that’s why he wasn’t rubbed out.
