Was looking forward to this test earlier in the year. A chance to see where we're at against one of the best teams.
Not so much now. Looking likely that Cripps misses. Kennedy will still be out. Hewett is week by week, but looking more likely that his season might be over. Not sure what's happening with Pittonet; 2 x VFL games, followed by a return to the AFL, followed by being managed. Can't go up against Gawn and Jackson with TDK and SOS. Newman done for the rest of the H&A rounds. Williams listed as not being available until round 23. Stocker coming back from concussion. Martin subbed out with hamstring tightness, so might miss.
Can't even bring back an experienced old head like Ed Curnow, who hasn't played this year, but currently injured.
I doubt we'll run with Weitering, Young, Gov and Marchy all in the backline again, so one of them comes out, which means it's doubtful that Kemp would come in.

So we're choosing between Fogarty, Stocker, Carroll (only 5 games to his name), Plowman, Honey (who was managed this week gone so must have a niggle), Hayes (back from suspension but only 2 games for the year) and that's it.

Need to just limit the damage, because if other results fall our way, percentage might be the only thing that keeps us in the 8.

Yup, close, dure encounter, plenty is on the line for both Baggers and Demons.
Sadly Blues are decimated with injuries, at the pointy end of procedures, so expect dees by 20 to 30 points.

Real danger game for the Dees this week. They may think that Carlton will be a walkover without Cripps and take them too lightly.

2021 Melbourne beat everyone good, but dropped the odd game to bottom-ten teams.

2022 Melbourne seldom beats anyone good, but easily accounts for the s**t teams.

The result lies within what you consider Carlton to be.

Both sides with a fair bit to prove here. Would like Carlton's chances a lot more at Docklands than the MCG.

Season on the line (potentially) for Carlton, and a top four spot on the line for Melbourne? Huge ramifications for whoever wins it. I reckon Dees by five or so goals though, kicking away in the final term.

Must win game for blues but would take a monstor effort which I don't see happening.

Ed Langdon needs to double down and say "Carlton are all duck and no Crippa"
