Played North Melbourne twice.
Played West Coast twice.
They will end up with 18 wins, the fixture is what it is. People complain about matches in Geelong and now it's who they play once? They won't play Sydney again at the SCG and Freo won down there in Geelong, i don't see the problem with a team that has won 12 in a row. It's just nitpicking.

Nice cherry pick. You had a 36 year old Gary Ablett Jnr at the time.
Ablett and Taylor is one thing, Selwood, Hawkins, Blicavs, Guthrie, Menegola, Duncan, Smith + more is another.

Anyway the point is not to get too carried away. Most Geelong fans actually understand this, but clearly you're a bit deluded.
Haven't you been reading the Hun
Geelong are going to add Hopper, Bruhn, De Goey and Grundy this offseason

I see your point but they haven't been fairly consistently bottom 8 since 2000-2006 and even then they made finals in 04 and 05. They are up there with Sydney as a model for continuous improvement and rebuilding on the run. We attempted to follow this model and got a run of bad injuries and luck and form and look at the state we are in now. It's hard to make it work which makes it impressive.
In 2014 when they lost to North in the semi, they had five 30+ year olds in the team.

In 2017 when they got belted by Adelaide in the Prelim, they had three 30+ year olds in the team.

Today, they have twelve(12!) 30+ year olds in their best 22. There is a very big difference between now and then.
Geelong have recruited some quality young players, but they're going to drop at some point in the next 1-2 years. You can keep a team reasonably consistent for a long time with perpetual top-ups, but when you reach a point where over half your team is old guys, it becomes impossible to keep going.

Fanatics like Phatboy will try to deny it, but this is simple reality. Hawthorn tried to fight this fate and failed miserably.
