AFL and Channel 7 would've thought this might have been something like 3rd v 6th - instead it's two cellar dwellers, both of whom are in fairly wretched form.

Dogs have played Bombers well basically for the last decade - last season's home and away loss notwithstanding. However, English out so we'll have a cooked Martin or a conveyor belt of mids going up against Draper, so that doesn't fill me with confidence.

Dogs get their contested footy sorted and some basic competence coming out of the backline and inside 50 they'll win - otherwise Bombers could win this handily, which is probably what I'm leaning towards.

I have no idea what to expect from this game. If we can click like we did against Sydney but actually kick straight I can see it being a belting however we rarely do that. Wright and Draper loom as players who will have a big impact however both have shown to be very up and down with their consistent output. This will either be a close game or we will win by a lot but i'd be more inclined to back it being closer now

No idea how this will play out as Essendon outplayed us for the first half of the final as well as in the H&A game last year, but both them and us are playing worse football since then.

2 developments from the EF - we have a small fwd specialist defender in Kelly now. But still prone to giving away frees. McGrath is playing defence too. So should mean Redman isn't on Weightman and we don't give away 5+ frees.

Dogs midfield too powerful and quick.
I don't give us any chances unless Smith, Bont, Macrae, Weightman and Naughton are all H&S iso-ing.
