4 points very important. Other than that burst at the start from the Hawks, feels like we've been the far better team and it probably could have been a bigger margin based on the dominance particularly in the middle. Great to score 100+ again, offence us humming in recent weeks.

Hawks have a great never give up attitude and were plucky all day. Mitchell has them building nicely even if this is a development year.
Second week in a row we've given up a slew of late goals to bring the oppo back in it. Hopefully that gets sorted but it's an equally good sign to get good sized leads.

I'll take that given where Hawthorn is at the moment. TIges absolutely punished our errors (two dropped chest marks from Frost resulted in goals). Richmond too classy in the end but there's at least something to work with for the Hawks. Absolutely need to find a bull type midfielder because we were slaughtered in the midfield (although Wingard was very good in the last). Richmond can defintiely cause some trouble for the other sides in the eight. Too many good players not to be a threat.

I liked how the hawks didn't drop away and came out fighting till the end....That is a neon sign that the hawks are on to a good thing.

The fact you had some sort of a chance for an upset 10 points down with 2-3 minutes to go, the Hawks kept coming as they did against Demons. That's a terrific sign, once the young guys mature a bit more that never say die attitude will win you a lot of games.

We need midfield depth and quality desperately. It's entrenched in the league that it's the worst and has been for some time. We have an awful group of midfielders who can't win clearances to save themselves bar Newcombe, at times Jaeger, Nash and Wingard when he plays there. It's why we threw Day in there today to see what he can bring. Badly missing our 1st choice ruckman too which has had an effect on our form since the Geelong game. No CJ or Reeves and we haven't been the same.

Love the way we play compared to the late Clarkson years, we will always give ourselves a chance and we’re dangerous.

Tigers just won everything in the middle and that was the game, but at least we didn’t stop this week.

And that’s hawthorns lot.
Not good enough for finals
Not bad enough for premium draft picks

So given you beat us by one point, you'd have to say Carlton are similarly placed. So far we've played 6 of the current top 8 as it stands tonight, compared to Carlton's 2. We've both beaten one top 8 side. There is nothing surer in life than Death, Taxes, and Carlton fans getting ahead of themselves.

Yeah, exactly. He just understands the game so well and uses his body so well too. Not an impressive athlete by any stretch yet makes people far stronger, faster and taller look silly almost every week.

Freakshow!
Doesnt rely on athletic traits like speed , Leap or endurance and can have the strength into his late 30's
Football brain and talent is his wood and could be a 50 goal foward with 80/20 fwd/mid split

still has another 100+ games left in him

And stinking up every thread they can.
