Port got the job done.

North are as bad as everyone says. No pressure or structure, bruise free game that looked like circle work or an internal trial at times.

biggest let down is thomas he has so much talent yet has is just ticking over in 3rd gear, clarko will be licking he's licks

Imagine being up by 30 points at quarter time and whinging about the commentary.

Of course they're going to try and find positives for North, no one wants to hear them just lament at how s**t we are.

It's not unreasonable to expect a unbiased call of the game. You would have thought you were getting mugged by the umpires when it was 11:6 YOUR way with us also getting some pretty appalling non-decisions early in the game which cost us scores. They crapped on about how Goldstein was dominating when Hayes beat him in the ruck, comfortably if you take into account the 70% gametime. They made objectively incorrect observations that demonstrate they don't know anything about Port this year and are just relying upon previous years to try to pretend they know wtf is going on. 2 Clear examples of this. 1) Dwayne Russell emphasized SPP having a good game and how he wasn't in the best 22 at the start of the year (He would be top 5 in our BnF at the moment and some of our posters have him no 1 under a 1-5 vote system). 2) Dal Santo crapping on about how Wines had a poor start to the season and his 'rise' was part of why we are now winning with his 'last month being strong'. He had 29, 36, 30 touches in the first 3 weeks along with averaging 6 tackles, etc and then had the heart issue. Last week's game against the bulldogs was his worst all year with 21 touches. I don't think it is unreasonable to expect commentators to know how the reigning Brownlow medalist is travelling this year or to be able to give credit to a 5th gamer for winning his position instead of praising 'one of the boys' because it makes for a feel good story.

I should note that this is not a new phenomenon. Last week, every 3 minutes the WB injuries got mentioned and not once did someone say, oh yeah, by the way, Port have 5-6 players missing as well. It gets very grating week in week out hearing rubbish Vic centric bias where commentators wheel out excuses for why your win doesn't actually mean anything. I know a number of people outside of Victoria that simply don't watch football anymore (Both Crows and Port) because they are sick of it. The AFL are doing everything in their power to destroy their product.
