St Kilda Events:

Celebrating our yawa this Sir Doug Nicholls Round

St Kilda Football Club wishes to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which the club sits.

The club pays its respects to elders past, present and emerging, and through them, all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples whose lands and waters we live, work and play on.

2023 Indigenous Guernsey

In commemoration of its Ganbu marnang n’uther boolong – the Boonwurrung translation of '150th year' – and those who have contributed to its yawa, St Kilda Football Club is proud to wear this year’s Indigenous Guernsey.

Designed by Indigenous artist Jade Kennedy of the Noongar Nation (Wadjak, Willman, Kaartdijin & Bibulman), the guernsey represents the yawa of the club and its First Nations players and their families.

Expecting us to win but after that game vs North a few weeks back can't say I'm expecting much more. Just hopefully get to the bye without more injuries

Marvel should help our ball movement. Saints will win fairly easily. Id be very upset if its a blow-out because we have made good progress.

If we can stay within 4 goals, kicking 10+ goals ourselves I'd be happy.

This game seems like a possible banana skin on Saints path to the finals. That said, 100 point wins versus WCE aren't necessarily reliable form guides if we reference Carlton.

If Hawks can break even in midfield, noticeable size advantage for them up forward with Lewis & Koschitzke.

Hawks 2 wins have come from the 2 worst sides in the comp. It would be a disaster for the Saints to drop this one, but we are St Kilda after all!

Your form hasn’t been good.

You barely beat GWS who barely beat us without two of our best players (and key fwd who fixes our whole structure)

Our midfield has been humming from a contest POV and is only getting better and I feel yours has been a weakness.

But your backline, forwardline and overall structure is strong.

Young teams can be very up and down so it’s hard to know exactly what we’ll get from the Hawks. They have the ability to give the Saints a run for their money but equally they have the ability to get blown away. Hoping it’s the former and they make a game of it.

Our midfield has been very ordinary this year it is true.

St Kilda by 4 points thanks to a Max King goal 90 seconds before the siren.

St Kilda by 10 goals if they bring their B-game. Hawks have been trying hard but are nowhere near competitive against the better sides.

Saints win this but the Hawks will have them stressed for a long time. Will probably be an arm wrestle.

Saints by 3 goals.

We have a habit recently of making it tough for ourselves against the Hawks.

Won't be a walkover that's for sure.

AFL Member so all clubs I guess.
Saints have won the past 5 and 2 were over 10 goals

Saints are better this year and Hawks are much much worse.

Will give the vfl/AFL record of -239 points margin change week on week a sniff

The Saints won’t kick enough goals for that to happen.
Still a bottom 10 scoring team.

They will win as they are a well drilled side but they aren’t hammering the Hawks unless the Hawks put in the same effort as WC last week.

Poor kicking in front was the only thing keeping us from a score well over a hundred last week, the first game with Max King back.

I expect he will help improve our overall scoring.
