Do the crows actually have that much talent coming through? They have a few but im not sure either team have the youth to build towards anything meaningful.

There are probably three players in the SANFL side that played yesterday I'd expect will have at least a good to very good career at AFL level in Taylor, Nankervis and Cook, and a couple i'm on the fence on. That said, it's also a side that looks like we've been tanking for a few years. Seeing it's a lot of the kids who have fallen out of favour and Matt Crouch (+ we have done well with our top ups).

Chayce Jones ended Port's season

Was there a reason given why this game wasn't played during Gather Round? It would've really given the showdown the national spotlight and be booked as the marque match of the round. Just feels like a missed opportunity

This way the SA clubs each get an extra home game at AO on top of 2 showdowns. So like always the answer is $$

Sh!t result but always love the bars. Football department changes needed at our club but it will be too late to save this season. Is the draft talent any good and is it worth tanking?
We'll tell you when we use your first round pick ... and yes please.

Which is why it's so hard to understand why the AFL can't give this show piece game a stand alone nationally televised game?

This game shat all over the two games from Thursday and Friday night.

How many absolute classic games do these two teams have to play against each other before being given a chance?
Listening to 3AW pre match broadcast today tells you everything you need to know about this subject. Vic's don't care, they rather watch a bottom of a ladder clash featuring a Vic team over the showdown all day, every day.
