Much respect between the two clubs too.
You can see the Geelong boys feel what you're going through.

Stengle will be a big loss but it now gives Henry an opportunity to elevate his game in his absence.

Still, it's alarming the drop off by the Eagles.
I think most expected lean years ahead but at times, they almost look like a WAFL team thrown into the deep end.
Yeah, Stengle was close to getting on the end of a couple in the second quarter and could smell a bag in that second, but then got in the wars and eventually sad to see him subbed out.

I think we're very used to it now, sort of fell away midway through 2021 so it's been a while, and our younger list already were looking a bit vanilla, just didn't have the kind of age profile to beat off a proper rebuild. The reality of that drop is past us now, could be some tougher times ahead yet but the fanbase is in tune with where the club's at now and going forward, and we've had a lot to enjoy despite the 1-4 and injury list. I'm old enough to have gone through 2001 and 2008-10 as well, so even after a long period of being up this kind of thing can happen, at least we nabbed a flag to tide us over for a long while yet (not expecting a Sydney-style quick rebuild).

Same as Hannebery
Hard worker. Ex champion.
But still totally over paid and a terrible contract.
It happens
All hindsight though isn’t it? Who isn’t giving them those contracts at the peak of their powers because they might have a career defining injury.

Prime Yeo is with more than 850 a year imo. Same with McGovern and the rest. Top 2 or 3 in his position in the league when he was given that contract. You either do it and cop the tail end or you don’t win flags. We got one, everything else is irrelevant because it was worth it

You resigned an injured 32yo NicNat for 2 years a few months back

That's heinous management

Well done Geelong but they'd want to work on the fade out, the better sides will crucify them if they continue down that path.
Very happy with the effort apart from the 2nd obviously, the fwds doing some great work.

💯
With the AFL up for a massive lawsuit it’s pretty poor form from players(west coast one of the worst offending teams) to actually initiate actions that put the head at risk all for the sake of a meaningless free kick .
Happy Excuse Me GIF
