But, but, Geelongs depth…..
It's no so much the depth but so many youngsters who ALL will be good players but having so many senior players out and having 6 youngsters under 20 years of age playing leaves you somewhat vulnerable, especially over entire game. Having said that, most did reasonably well and our losing was just as much to do with a few of the older statesman not performing as well as they normally can. Much to get excited with being a Cats supporter because this is the best young crop we have had come into club since 2002/03 period, plus there's at least another 3 to 4 in the VFL who are just as likely as well.

We seemed very fumbly tonight and Richmond were very good on the turnover not a bad effort but well done to the tigers that bloody Martin again!

I felt that we had the ball a lot but didn’t control it well enough to wait for leads from our kpp.

We will be 7th at the end of the round (Richmond 14th).
Percentage of 127 (Richmond 99).

Win next week and we right back in the hunt for top four again.

cats haven't beaten a side in the 8 yet so even a win in Perth v Freo won't convince me the Cats are anywhere near the level of last year.

Lowest Richmond can finish is 13th, which would leave us a game out of the 8 if all the higher-placed sides beat their opponents this week.

You do know a side that won 16 games straight including a prelim and grand final by 70 and 80 points doesn’t need to rock up the next year and prove to anyone they are good enough? Silly stuff. Very slow start with again injuries and off form like alot of grand finalists, then hit big straps for a month, and tonight is just one to throw out and meaningless given the ridiculous injury list.
Yes last year, geelong's last hurrah

A fuller strength Geelong are still premiership contenders. Richmond barely hanging on by our fingernails.
Still. I put $50 on Richmond at 80:1 last week. A man can dream can't he?

Yes we’ve hardly won any flags over the last 30 years…..

Control your little brain. Schooling has clearly suffered since you used up the resources

Where were you 2004 - 2014? 2022?

If Tigers were any good they would have gotten smashed like the rest.

Our record is as it is because Geelong are competitive more often than not. Even when not at their best, they will be thereabouts.

Come on, youre not the only club with injuries! some clubs manage to stand up despite them.

Yup, woken up nice and early and having coffee in bed reading bigfooty :)

What’s your point?

Would have been a nightmare to watch for Chris Scott and the Geelong faithful , de javu. Tigers too tough too hard , goat doing goaty things . Let it continue .

Collingwood have played the injury card but at worst are missing a few average-decent talls and Lipinkski for the most part.

You wouldn't cope missing your best two midfielders (De Goey and Pendles?), best key defender (Moore), best two small/pressure forwards (Ginnivan, Elliot), and third tall/pressure forward (I can maybe give you McStay there who has missed) as well. Both of us are missing our ruckman (Stanley/Cameron) and third tall defender (Henry/Howe)

But focussing on the 22 out there last night it was an even contest minus one thing: kicking efficiency. Probably something that remains the most underrated factor in deciding football matches. Tigers used it really well and nailed their chances especially first half. Cats didn't. That's the game.

Then move to ballarat or a new state or whatever, establish your own new base. The AFL will have no issues relocating a club it has to hand out so much welfare to each year. Off you go champ! Sky is the limit for the Northern Territory doggies
Lol

Geelong fans talking about welfare has to be a joke right

Being in marginal seat and being gifted tens of millions of dollars for a regional ground every year and you talk
About welfare

Turn it up

And you get to play in your training ground . The only club in the league that has that luxury

And that ground has the weirdest dimension in the league

Which means you make finals when you don’t deserve to

Which means you usually fail dismally in finals

Roll it back baby .

Why did Jeremy Cameron keep marking the ball 60 metres out from goal last night? The bloke is a beautiful set shot for goal. He should be timing his leads to mark it closer to goal so he can convert.
