Opinion AFL 2024 Round 7 - Weekend Wrap & Liked, Learnt, Hated

Liked - The view from the top as a Collingwood supporter.
- Sidebottom, storing his Anzac medal away to be looked at later, as this moment was about the team win.
- The respect shown at all games for the Anzac spirit.
Learnt - The comp is still very even, so double up games against the very poor teams means so much.
- Age certainly did not weary them this weekend, with several older players, turning back the clock.
Hated - Injuries, always hate injuries.
- Whilst there wasn't alot to hate, Port and Carlton both winning, didn't exactly fill me with joy.

GC have played one game less due to the game against the Bombres being bumped to the start of final round / end of penultimate round however it works.

You never know, Essendon might have beaten them up there at Carrara, first round of the year.....

Even if you're correct, since when has the ladder been based on strength on opposition?

GC would be top of the ladder with 1 more win, and are a game 'short' due to missing the opportunity to play Essendon at home, which given the Don's slow start to the year, would most likely have been that win.

It has been based on win ratio before, as it should be this year.

I thought the Crows Dockers game umpiring ruined the game , let them play

Umpiring most of the 21st century ruins games.
The complication of rules the grey areas, the number of choices umpires can make because of the grey, the massive over kill of petty detail in penalties, well, it is putting some off.
I think I watched one and a half quarters of footy this weekend. I usually get into 3 or 4, even
The Bounce, bit like footy matches is looking a bit the same, same, same this year.

I still don't like the Suns or GWS, And Tassie should have had a team 15 years ago.
Watch that no.19 team frazzle our comp.
Still the Hawks won.

Curtis' suspension - more evidence that the AFL only punish outcome rather than intent

Oh i dont support the notion that the AFL are doing tons to get GC to succeed on field.
I think off-field they are, which is probably required. Gaining a foothold in the GC sporting landscape seems almost the impossible dream for any sport.
