Enjoy your flag in 2025. Hawks will win a flag before Essendon wins another final.
Pretty broad time range there. We could be all dead before Essendon wins another final

Jeff farmer was a good player but I think 7 goals in his first season and 19 in his second. Kids just started his second season and is already being tagged
He just turned 20 and he is living rent free in thousands of heads. People are already desperate for him to fail.

The standards that people are holding him too are incredibly high for a small forward starting his 2nd season.

Bigfooty: ha ha, Watson ducked and didn't get a free kick
Also Bigfooty: #freekickhawthorn
Never change...

My votes for this game would be:
3 votes: Day
2 votes: Amon
1 vote: Warner

Swans with Gulden and Mills would have been at least a 3 goal better side.
McDonald will allow then to play McCartin in the correct position as well (FB).

Anyone writing them off already is going VERY early.

Unfortunately, it is likely that they will go 0-3, with two very tough games coming up (Brisbane at home, Freo away).
However, their following 10 games are all winnable. If they can get to the main bye rounds with a positive win ledger (and no further major injuries) then they should be looking at finals again.

Enjoy your 2025 flag.

Gunston will be in that grand final side too.

Sadly Essendon won't win a final this year
Not seeing the sadness in what you have written

Like I’ve said multiple times.. Hawthorn are bringing the game into disrepute with these F50 frees, milking high contact.. no different from a soccer player diving for a penalty
The thing was it was the Swans who actually got the downfields and 50s from absolute flops during the game.

Sydney will be fine - they are missing Gulden, Mills (their Captain) and their full forward as well as Cunningham.
A lot of "Hawks were good, and worried for Swans" type posts.

Overall it was just a pretty good season opener with a really entertaining first quarter particularly. Hawks just better for longer as they say but the Swans will be around the action again.

l
Lizard was good.

Got dragged back /forced to play key defender a lot and he is not great at being accountable . I am not sure Cox has the defence right , but what do I know.

Of course not. Most of you anti Essendon fans want Essendon to rot or become as popular as crotch rot. LoL
I'd be worried about your upbringing and character if you didn't want Essendon to rot

It's ordinary ATM because there's no structure due to injuries. think that's pretty obvious. Chol was the only tall and he did a reasonable job considering. If we can kick 14 goals without most of the forward line firing that doesn't bode well for the rest of the comp does it?. Lot more upside 😂, as I mentioned above we had at least half a dozen players who had poor games who make us a 5 goal better side if there up and about. You can cling on to the fact you might think you have more upside but realistically only Gulden and McDonald improve your side from last night. We have Dear and Lewis to slot in next to Chol so we can make the most of nearly 60 entries in the future.

I wasn’t suggesting injuries as our upside at all, Wicks Warner and a couple of others aside we had a lot down on the night whereas I think Hawks played close to their ceiling.

Having said that Mills Gulden Fox and McDonald come back into the 22 will improve it

Grundy is a big concern, was he carrying something or is he done? I think Ladhams would’ve provided much more

Hopefully Cox doesn’t repeat his predecessors habit of selecting players who are underdone as Papley also looked proppy

Enjoy the win Hawkers, as they say, winners are grinners and the rest can do as they please

lol he's a forward. it's called having a defender. :)

Good luck thinking Watson will ever come close to the real Wiz despite being a handy player.
He has already kicked as many goals as farmer did in two seasons l think u r letting ure hatred of said player get in the way of rational thought
