Tough luck Catters. Tigers far too good in this one. Will be a blow out if Koszitsche plays and even Josh Smillie is a decent chance to rack up 30 possessions from the stands.

Why would you feel the need to be the first to rush in and be arrogant and simultaneously wrong?

Anyway.. have a sneaky feeling we might lose this one

Not a shot at you or your team. Just a couple of your more vocal fans who were incredibly quick to tell us we were shot to bits at the end of 2020 and our age profile was going to see us die a quick and horrible death, and went into overdrive about it at the start of 2022, and even after we won that year persisted with it. And continued to tell us our young players were no good. Our young players have been very good then and since. As have some of yours this season when they’ve not been injured in what’s been a pretty unlucky year.

Cats brethren. We need to turn up in droves to help our feline friends.
Selling a game to NSW next year just like the minnow clubs. Let's help them out on Saturday.

Agree with the last couple sentences... but you've also basically just said holding a grudge influences your posting. I'm not sure those comments give free reign to not be called out on arrogant posts.

one would think...it will be a long day at the office for the tige's

Not a grudge. Telling people their team will fall in a heap or fail or making black and white predictions is the ultimate sign of a moron, in my eyes. Everyone has an opinion on what is happening or what they think will happen or has happened and everyone has a right to make a prediction: of course they do, that’s one of the things that makes sport interesting and discussing it with others. And yes i am arrogant about it - often - when my team has a degree of success.

But if someone is silly enough to roast my team for something that hasn’t yet happened by saying ‘just wait until you are shit in 2 years’ time hahaha’ and it doesn’t happen, and then they are too spineless to ever say ‘well i got that one wrong (which most of the people I target these comments at are) then I’m going to get stuck into them when i have the chance for being so headstrong when i was busy saying ‘well maybe, but hey we still have this guy, this guy and this guy that are playing well and these other guys that might grow into good players so just wait and see.’

It’s even funnier when those people still can’t accept it and keep making excuses as to why we are still doing ok

Well, my suggestion is being less arrogant as I think that comes across as pretty unlikable and I don't see the point. It also brings any positive energy down in threads. Everyone sees what posters post, so it isn't getting stuck into specific people unless you @ them. That's what I reckon anyway.

That’s fair

We play the MCG better than Metricon or Tassy, so I'm expecting a decent effort here to finish off the season.
Cats by 40pts.

Could be one of those games where we rest a bunch of guys and bumble along in third gear, keeping it frustratingly (or excitedly for you guys) close for most of the match.

Far as resting i hope not (except Stanley as with Conway injured again we have absolutely no other rucks). Already got a week off after it. Then if win week 1 another week off. Suddenly some have played very little footy going into a cut throat prelim. Everyone that's fit and in best team should be in.

Do you think the Neale ban will change who gets rested? I would have thought Cameron might be a chance to miss because he's too important. Not that the result might be up for grabs but that the Cats structure might change too much.

Good points. Probs play the team you want to take into the finals and let them enjoy a break as soon as round 24 finishes then back to business.

I think Cameron will play now for sure.

I’d say it opens the door for Ollie Henry to have one last go at showing he’s worth a sub spot for the finals but I’d say even if he goes well he’s probably 2/3 in the pecking order. Neale’s increasing levels of extra effort are highlighting why Henry’s disappeared off the radar. His goalkicking has been down when he has played - a goal a game this year from basically 2gpg the previous two - his goal assists have been steady, 0.66 a game so about the same.

I can see SOME changes that they have tried to get from him, he’s averaging half a tackle more per game which doesn’t sound like much but for a stay at home forward is a noticeable difference. But Dangerfield playing forward and Neale being, well, good, means he offers nothing that other players can’t. He can only play one role: he can play it well, he’s a good goalkicking forward but that’s really it. We can’t use him in any other capacity so this weekend might be his last game for a while I think, if he does play.

I really do want Henry to work on his game and force his way back in next year. But with Martin (this is who's really forced him out) playing well and Danger unlikely to come out again I think Henry is done for 25.

I want him there too because I think his best is a really useful footballer: I’d love going forward to have two guys parked there in the front 50 for the next decade who are averaging 5.5 goals a game between them in he and Neale that you can just set and forget each week and build a forward line around.

The game is about kicking a score at the end of the day and that’s what he does better than anything else but we have so many guys who do that to a reasonable level AND offer something else so he simply has to find, for as long as Dangerfield is there at the very least, another string to his bow.

I don’t disagree re. Martin by the way but he doesn’t ’command’ a position there as such, he can sort of go anywhere and does. Dangerfield - well, he’s Dangerfield. If he wants a spot up forward or wants space up forward, well he’s going to get it and the lesser players will have to always adjust.

I hope we don't bring him in.
That forward line of Dempsey, Cameron, Stengle, Close, Mannagh, Martin will be incredibly agile and put up a massive score.

If need be, Blicavs can shift forward in spells.

Henry is a big concern. The days of a pigeon-holed player are well and truly over in today's era.

Exactly why we are saying we’d like him back but with a few extra dimensions to add to his obvious ability to impact on the scoreboard

He may never be able evolve his game and merely fade away.
It happens.

Cameron Ling found himself in a similar situation and discovered he had freakish running capacity (by chance).

I can't envision Ollie Henry having a secret atheitc trait like that up his sleeve.

Think it'll well and truly be a thrashing. How many does Cameron need? Doubt Cats rest any with the finals bye, because if they won the QF those players rested this week wouldn't have played much footy once prelim final week hits.

Think Geelong by 90+

I've sort of checked out for this season anyway after the North game, not sure if other Tiger fans have yet.
