I really like Melbourne's drafting over the last couple seasons- their youngsters today were who made them competitive.
When the Dees get a forward line, and when they plan for life after Max, I can see them pushing up the ladder again before long.

Also, the umpiring was an absolute disgrace. Probably the worst in 20 years. Completely inexcusable not awarding that free kick to Pickett and then the audacity to pay a 50/50 trip later on to hawks. And the Jiath in the back when there was literally no-one else around showed the umpires were really just guessing most of the time. A terrible day by the umpiring department. Game should've been over at half time.

100% Hawks played badly the first three quarters. Lucky to not be 4 goals down at 3/4 time. However I would put the blame mostly on the Melbourne players failing to convert - that was definitely a massive let-off on multiple occasions.

The amount of turnovers we gave them and you're right luckily they weren't able to convert. We allowed Max to take to many marks as well. Hawks the better team all day and the last quarter reflected that.

Basically every umpire should be stood down for the rest of the year.

To not pay that is / was beyond incompetent. That’s the worst I’ve ever seen. Ever.
