The difference a star forward makes was on show and him injured was a big reason why Richmond were horrible last year. Even underdone and rusty, Lynch demanded a lot of attention from defenders, and he was often triple teamed yesterday in contests.

Thought he got towelled up a lot by Weitering but to his credit he still did his job for the smalls the whole game. Last year, they were relying on Koschitzke to do that.

Hard to make a call on a 1 game sample size. And knowing how stacked and hard to get into that Giants backline with Taylor, Buckley etc. But last night he just looked horribly out of position and form. Here are some telling stats. 4 turnovers, 3 pressure acts and 0 tackles. Would want to put that game behind him like all his team mates.
He should have retired a one-team player

Nick Haynes looking good
It's a shame he is out for the rest of the season, I thought he was sensational for Richmond but they won't get to use him all year now.

Hard to replace.

settle settle Tigers.
Haven't beaten anyone good. Also, Carlton were missing a player.

Sure we love a come from behind victory, but, its just round 1 (or zero or 2 or whatever the F)
Its probably too early to talk about another FLAG ;)
The round 1 overreactions both ways each year are always humorous. Carlton will still be up there and you blokes are a young, inexperienced outfit that will probably tire and finish bottom 6 but the narrative straight after the games this time of year is funny

I believe the quote goes, "Hard work beats talent when talent isn't willing to work hard"
This sums it up precisely

Blues showed up and expected to win without putting in the effort

Tigers put the effort in, and showed some hunger

Blues need to realise they aren’t entitled to anything.
If they are serious about being a contender, they need to do the work and put in the required effort

Quite simply, they aren’t willing to do what it takes to be successful

Upon further review now that I've stopped laughing at Carlton. I am forced to take points off Seth Campbell's celebration.

Sure the boy's got a great Chiko Roll but come on

No Battered Sav
No Hello Boys
Not even a Flatbag

The Russian Judge would not be impressed. 7.5 at best.

How does Sam Walsh have 25 touches and no impact. Saad- ‘Woof’ followed by ‘oh $&@?, another turn over’, gold.
When you have back surgery at such a young age, due to being overworked and pressured to play under duress, a fast decline is inevitable. I feel sorry for the poor kid - another star ruined by Carlton’s negligence- just Kruzeur.

Maybe in about 12-14 years when they match Geelongs age profile.

Geelong are going into tomorrow with less 30+ year olds than Richmond had on Thursday night.

“Geelong Old” jokes are about 3 years out of date. Conveniently, those jokes got “old”

I noticed last year how much he'd regressed at GWS, and I thought he was an excellent defender at his best. Looks a shadow of that player now.
