Bailey Dale is one of those mediocre mid level players that look special when playing with A grade guns like Bont and Liberatore. If he was drafted elsewhere into a worse setup he would not be anything. So many players, so many careers, make or break depending on what situation they get drafted into.
That's one of the biggest load of crap I've read on here. And that's saying something 🤣

Love when Judas players like Ben Mckay who leave struggling clubs just end up struggling at their new clubs. Nothing better than when those types do not get rewarded for their glory hunting

Also some breaking news: Bont is good at footy
can't really call him Judas, he was out of contract, got a better offer and chose to leave.

We're not upset though. We made the right choice not to over pay for a bog average footballer. And we got pick 4.

Hard to put much blame on McKay - or the other defenders - when the Doggies were able to waltz it through the midfield with no pressure.

McKay is no star, but even prime SOS Silvagni would have trouble defending some of that rubbish.

I think the point is not the fact the bombers were poor last night, more the fact that McKay left to go to the bombers who aren't much better than north and probably won't be for much longer imo. Having said that McKay leaving was great for north considering they were well compensated.

don't know how much we learnt about the dogs, considering the opposition.
But we definitely learnt alot about the Bombers ...
Every team has those weeks, but to get blown away so early in the game was shocking.

The Dog’s best is better than anyone else. When they are on, they absolutely dismantle sides. While win/loss might have not been a totally accurate picture, Essendon were 5-3, so hardly a WC or Norf. Probably should have been 120 points had the dogs not missed so many regulation chances. Maybe not as consistent as some other teams but their best is close to unbeatable.

There is a sizeable gap between the top 7 and the rest. Bombers found that out the hard way last night.

Dogs now need to frank efforts like that by beating one of the other 6 genuine contenders.

Next 2 games against Geelong at the Cattery and Hawthorn at Marvel will show us if they are real contenders or just making up the numbers.

The Bombers have done really well to scrap their way to 5 wins but their percentage is a much truer reflection of where they are at.

They have scraped over the line against 12th, 14th, 17th and 18th and then been belted by 1st, 5th and 6th.

Credit to them, they are having a crack, but that’s not the form line of a team that is anywhere near playing finals. Based on that you would say they’ll be doing well if they win 2 of their next 6.
