Essendon could easily be three losses worse with the WC, North and Sydney games going the other way. The North and Sydney games they should have absolutely lost.

I’m a pretty negative supporter, but I had very few concerns about tonight’s game. The bombers are nowhere near the dogs at full strength, and they’ve also been cruelled by injury.

Kane’s view of them being close to finals and a top four team next year was laughable, but expected by someone like him who has honestly no clue about the game. They’ve got some decent young players but without Merrett they’d be closer to WC than anyone else. They’re years away from contending.

Bulldogs aren’t exactly lighting it up, but it’s a glorified training run because the opposition are insipid.

Will probably end up something like 120-45. Top six team vs a bottom eight team. Not sure what everyone else expects.
