I'm not sure neutrals care that much.

It's Geelong's equal third most anticipated game of the season so far. Hawthorn and Collingwood games at the G easily above. It's about on par with the Gather Round opener vs Adelaide.

Easily the Bulldogs most anticipated game since the 2021 grand final, so the thread probably belongs on their board.

Chanel 7 believe it will be the highest viewed Thursday game all season.

Um seems to have struck a nerve with the cats. Missed the fact it is not that he left it is the compensation we got. Hypothetical. Smith goes to the hawks next season and you get pick 17 you would be screaming blue murder.
Why does that build the anticipation of the game for you? It's a grudge match because a player left and you didn't get a good enough pick for him?

It surely can't be because of his throwaway Ballarat comment. He was probably responsible for your next Mars game getting moved to Marvel.

lol.

For starters, again: YOUR CLUB agreed to pick 17. No one else. It wasn’t compensation from the AFL. It was a deal your club signed off on.

Secondly, we wouldn’t agree to that.

Thirdly. His value is higher now than it was when we signed him. The football he’s playing now is the best he’s played. His value has appreciated. That’s how assets work. As such, he’s worth more than pick 17. So we would drive a harder bargain.

You haven’t made a coherent argument yet as to why we should feel some level of sympathy for you.

I will be very surprised if this game is not the most talked about game of the round in the media. However, really just a bit of banter see the reactions. As someone said earlier we are doing fine without him playing a team first game.

Well you did say most anticipated of the season.

It's a big game but moreso because the winner will be seen as a genuine top 4 contender IMO.

Geelong are playing the same team first game as before Smith. We've been warned something bad happens later ("just you wait!") but that comes across as bitterness to be honest.

Baz to get 1000 Free Kicks as Bulldogs players go after him off the ball from the get go, the umpires seeing this treatment insert themselves to protect him as much as possible.
A record number of Free Kicks and 50m penalties paid.

BigFooty and r/AFL go into meltdown mode.

The little shit stirrer with the mullet walks away with the win.

Also bets on which player takes the first shot at him?

It’s just Smith looking for attention, and the media trying to hype the game up. Most anticipated is being a bit generous for a game being played at a VFL sized ground outside Melbourne.

We don’t miss him, and Geelong don’t seem to have improved, if anything he has just papered over some of the large cracks in their team. But he will be enjoying being a midfield star, something that couldn’t happen playing with the Bont.

Agree with the disgust of the new Dodoro - Mackie, but the extra pick we landed we got Kennedy cheap so I guess it rounded out, and Mackie will eventually learn goodwill is an important part of trading.

So why are so many Doggies fans so pissy and bitter?

If Smith truly is a horrible cultural cancer, and you're so much better off without him, you should be grateful we've taken this guy off your hands.

No Dangerfield no Geelong

Bulldogs by 45

Bailey Smith to regret leaving the Bulldogs after they win the 2025 premiership.

Bevo to get a new 5 year deal!

Pity the AFL schedules us to play at Kardinia Park every year. At least we've won our last two there, though hopefully the ground will be in better nick than the last match we played there.

Shame it's on Thursday night, but TV rules the game these days and i can't see the Cats beating the Hot Dogs who are bathed in Chilli sauce at the moment. The Cats have lost Danger, but also Bowes who has been very consistent this season. Hopefully they get Stewart back who may curtail their forward line somewhat? I doubt Beveridge will allow his players to lose focus and concentrate too much on Smith ( I hope they do), but Unfortunately The Dogs will still win by 4 goals down at the Cats former fortress.

Yes it seems terribly unfair that we’ve hosted you there in 5 of our last 11 matches with you. The last two of which you’ve won.

How tough on you that must have been.

Ah, a cherry picker. Okay, my turn!

Is that better than the 2 from the last 8 that we've played against you at our home ground? Or the 4 from the last 13? Or the fact that we haven't had a home game against you for 24 months?

Isn't this fun?
