Demspey's goal wasn't the difference in score funny that.
Read mate. I said Dempsey kicks one from boundary and we miss 2 from 5 metres out 3 goal turnaround. That is on us not the cat sharpshooters. I guess you guys confuse reasons why we lost on for sulking when we are agreeing the cats had the better skills and that is why the won.

They got a few things wrong, but the Dempsey mark is not clear. The point Dempsey got both hands to the ball is when they usually deemed it's controlled.
Using the behind post as a guide for vertical. It's still not 100% clear but the benefit of the doubt tends to go to the guy marking it.

Remember the whole ball has to be over the whole line
Yep, that's a mark (and a hold). And it's the only complaint they seem to have. The game was over-umpired, I'll grant that. But I'm usually too old to not admit when we're getting a dream run.

Things are tough all over.

Good on you won the battle fair enough but will you win the war. Maybe but if you say you certain to beat us if we meet in a final on the G you are kidding yourself. That game could go either way.
Only 1 out of 18 teams win the real war: a premiership. The fact you are focussing on that potential rematch - and not simply ruing the damage the Dogs have done to their top 4 chances (where almost all premierships are won) - speaks volumes.

Brisbane did it from 5th but were on the back of a grand final season (plus several prelims before that), then got to play a fellow non-Vic side in the grand final. Otherwise you have to go back to 2016, and before that the 90s under a different finals system. Is Bevo really only capable of a finals charge from 5th-8th? What about this novel concept of finishing top 4 and launching from a QF?

The concept that the whole ball needs to be entirely over the line and what that actually looks like is impossible for the average moron to understand.

Of course we were. At no point in 120 minutes of football were the Bulldogs in the lead.
Buuuut buuuuut those mean umpiiiirez!!

Astounded at how soft the Dogs were with regards to Bailey Smith, opening minute he slams Matt Kennedys head into the turf with an over the top tackle... no response, not from a single dog.. Several times he got in the face of Bont, no dog came to remonstrate.. It set the tone for the entire game and Smith was allowed to waltz around as he pleased.

I was not at the game but on TV they showed some bants with smiles mostly with some standard pushing and shoving.. Libba got in Baileys face in the 4th a bit more. I honestly dont recall any of the events you have spoken about in emotive language above.

Dogs fans were baying for blood in the lead up. I personally thought the players wouldn't care as they aren't the kind of team that goes out of their way to rough up opposition players. I never thought they'd actively ignore him allowing him to be BOG though

BOG is a bit much he played very well considering his injury though.

Holmes or Shannon Neale for BOG imo.

Commentary team glowing over how good a game of football it was....maybe I'm weird but I kind of like a game of footy when the teams actually try to stop the opposition from scoring while trying to score themselves.

Good to see Smith and that ump getting along so well. Looked incredibly familiar with each other.
Weirdness confirmed!

High scoring games are always more exciting I think (unless they're blowouts)

Getting free wins at their cheat ground helps keep them perpetually competitive.

Some very good late picks and free agents on top gets them up at the pointy end most seasons.
Aah yes the cheat ground argument. Question for you....if Geelong were to play Hawthorn in Geelongs home final....whose home ground would we have to play on?

Of the last 25 grand finals there has been a MCG club in 16 of them....yet there's only 4 MCG clubs - yours being one of them, coincidence? - I think not!.

You are in no position to talk about cheat grounds.

You know that comedy joke where the sergeant calls for volunteers to step forward and everyone steps backwards, leaving one guy?

This home ground stuff is like that. Nobody forced the other clubs to abandon their identity and soul. Getting lectured by a team called "Western" about that stuff in particular is silly.

the boundary umpire that allowed the cats the ball when it was clearly out of bounds should be demoted.
pure incompetence or pure wink, wink I've got you cats.
watch the replay - there was two of them on either side of the contest and neither of them called it. Guess it may have been not quite over the line before it was controlled.

OR, the evil geniuses at geelong have worked out that bribing boundary umpires can be more fruitful than field umpires, remember the umpires touched call on the goal line against collingwood?....that must confirm it!

So that's 8 points we have courtesy of boundary umpires, pity your busted arse mob haven't figured out how the world works yet.

Oh we can’t talk about this.. doesn’t suit the sulks narrative.

Grow some balls doggie fans. You lost again to a top side… you can bully crap sides all you want, but you guys constantly choke against the best.

Suck it up and deal with it
my take as a neutral is that the dogs played really well. They should be proud of their efforts. I personally don't get the Dempset fuss. The ball looked in to me anyway. and he was getting held anyway.

However, the umpires were probably a 4 goal advantage to the cats so they were a big influence on the match.

You might want to go back and check what the score at Qtr time was.

It’s the dumbest point in history. We are 53-30 over the last 5 and a half seasons AWAY from there. And that includes a season we didn’t make the finals 😂😂😂

But nah it’s the home ground advantage that keeps us competitive.

The disparity gets even better as you go back further through the previous 15 years.
I for one am certain that a side that at one point won 52 out of 55 games, was only winning because of its home ground.

115 minutes then. Point still is valid.
Dogs can't argue they should have won.

Nah, you cant backpedal after making that assertion. Cats piled on the pressure in the 2nd and stopped the run, in the end had a much more damaging attack and cleaner footy that won the game.
