He's a beautiful kick for goal, absolute natural.Gun when switching forward that Hardwick too
So that never happens ever does it? Point out which frees weren't frees than if your going to bring it up.Yet to see a Hawks fan give a genuine reason as to why they might get a run of 9-0 free kicks when the game is on the line. Thoughts?

Ummm what?Day and Hollands should be absolutely ashamed of their performances.

It's not really relevant to the rule. It's just an automatic free kick and 50m penalty. Would have given Carlton a shot for goal to put them up 16 when they had momentum. Instead a warning was given.A guy was standing on the edge of the square while the ball was dead, and then they ran off the ground.
It’s not like he got a kick or helped score/stop a goal.
Thought Hollands did a great job on Moore. Probably a top 3 small/mid forward in the game and kept him pretty quietDay and Hollands should be absolutely ashamed of their performances.
26 disposals, 5 clearances, 7 inside 50’s, 5 tackles, 7 score involvements….I'd love to have Day play for my team. Great player !
I mean, sure, outrage is a massive part of the AFL, but really a free kick for what happened would also be completely over the top. It's not really relevant to the rule. I promise you if this was Carlton and they had won the reaction would be overwhelming from non-Carlton supporters.
I just don't think it's relevant. We give 50m penalties for players stepping 30cm over the mark. I think that's way over the top but we still pay it because it's an AFL rule. In this case the rule is a free kick + 50m penalty should have been paid.I mean, sure, outrage is a massive part of the AFL, but really a free kick for what happened would also be completely over the top.
Like Carlton getting 62.5% of their goals via umpire assistance? Or did you conveniently missed that part of the gameI don't agree but like I said its all subjective. Everyone will have their own view. And as I've said even putting it aside it was still a winnable game for both sides.
I'm not sure why that matters. If the free kick is there you should pay it no matter where it is on the field. A team can get 100% of their goals from free kicks and all of them may be clear cut.Like Carlton getting 62.5% of their goals via umpire assistance? 2 of them were horrendously bad decisionsI'm not sure why that matters. If the free kick is there you should pay it no matter where it is on the field. A team can get 100% of their goals from free kicks and all of them may be clear cut.
Free kick numbers are meaningless. If you think the free kicks were incorrectly awarded than that's fine. However, they are not automatically wrong because they led to a goal.

Very rarely do you hear an umpire get dropped. All four umpires that were part of yesterday's game will umpire games next week. Mark my words. Been an issue for a long time - complete lack of accountability from the AFL. Coaches can't mention them without getting fined. Players the same. It's just poor.Ive always wondered, do umpires get reprimanded behind the scenes for blatant bad decisions?

If you are going to dish it out don't leave yourself so open next time.
You essentially owned yourself.
Both teams ducked, flopped, dived and staged for free kicks consistently all night. Both sides were rewarded for it.
I didn't see it as a screw job to either team.

“Should be ashamed”
It doesn't. The AFL have come out and said Carlton should have received a free kick and 50m penalty. Instead Hawthorn got a 666 warning.Sounds like it needs to happen at any point in time other than after the siren.

12 tackles + five clearances - had a decent outing. He was always a contest to contest player.
