Dons beat us away last year in a thriller.
We beat Dons away last year in a thriller.

Based on that you'd think we're pretty even.

But we've added some handy players (ANB, Peatling, Cumming, Draper) to our best 22 and have a fit list.

I think that will tip the scales in our favour.

Crows by 20.

Should be a good game. Essendon looked OK last week despite going down (beat the Hawks in most key stats but couldn't convert). They've caused us a lot of issues in recent years with their fast movement, but I think we have the quality now to rectify that.

Langford and Ridley being out tips it in our favour, and without Ridley in particular, I think our forwards vs their defence will be the difference.

Crows by three goals in a high-scoring game.

Think we’ve just got too much firepower. Against St Kilda we had 12 goal kickers, every midfielder kicked at least 1, Fogarty 4, Thilthorpe 3, Dawson Rachelle Rankine Cumming 2 each.

Crows by 19.

looking forward to this clash
crows on the road at the G should be a interesting watch.
last week Don's were good ( even with a loss) crows were very good.
Adelaide 15-20p

Crows will have 10 changes to the team that beat the Bombers by 2 points late last year.

Out In
E Himmelberg T Walker
L Murphy A Neal Bullen
H Bond I Rankine
B Dowling I Cumming
B Smith J Peatling
L Nankervis W Milera
J Butts J Worrell
Z Taylor D Curtin
S Berry M Crouch
B Cook S Draper
That's quite astoundingly better.

crows 20+

our backline is cooked without Ridley.
If we can't beat you when we have the advantage of being at full strength v Dons having some key injuries, then I can't see us playing finals.

We have a horrible away record against the Dons... though should have had a kick for goal after the siren last year if the umpires had a clue.

Hopefully this week we finally break the hoodoo.

We have no excuses.

We broke the hoodoo last year with Rachele's winner, but yes, we should still be winning this, even if it won't be easy.

That was at home though.

Been a while since we have beaten them away.

Funny game. Essendon without two key players for their spine and no established forward in the team at all. Adelaide at full strength with a dominant looking forward line. That should make tipping easy, but it's at the MCG and Adelaide are completely allergic to it.

The most concerning thing about this game for me is that Essendon are a seriously dominant clearance team like Carlton and the Doggies, but we aren't efficient inside 50, which can lead to the ball slingshotting back down the field. Adelaide have excellent wings/half-backs too in Hinge, Worrall, Cumming, Laird. I'll be interested to see if we have any growth in transition defense, or whether we are as bad as Carlton at this.

I think Essendon will dominate the midfield but our scoring will let us down again.

Adelaide by 29.

reasonably fair assessment, i think.

I think we are going backwards tbh. Regardless of injuries.

We have the same issues we had 3 years ago.

Zero fwdline structure
Zero defence Structure
Transition defence is abysmal.

Like Hawthorn, we match up well against Adelaide's midfield. The problem is, Adelaide's forward line is too strong for our average backline. Our makeshift forwardline is a major work in progress. Don't think we'll win.
