Yes 2 from last 12 and those wins v North and Eagles is a clear and apparent formline
They are a bottom 6 side
No disrespect to Cottrell who I like as the type that gives his all on the field, but Carlton have someone amassed the worst group of small forwards on an AFL list in living memory.

I didn't really rate Owies but he's better than anyone else there have playing the role. Just one offensive threat at ground level would make them a much better side.

Walsh needs to start being removed from these lists.

I'd take current day Hewett and Cerra ahead of him easily. The latter seems to struggle running out games though.
Isn't Walsh playing injured?

Maybe they just need to bite the bullet and get his body right.

Davidson is a lot like Dane Swan. I am not sure there is much polish there, but he cannot escape the footy, and if it’s there to be won, he inexplicably always ends up with it
Good comparison, if a little early - if Sam has half the career Dane had the Bulldogs will be very happy.

I will say that a would be reluctant to let Swanny operate on my child though.

Maybe the Dogs need to start stopping the ducking into tackles to draw free kicks. Don't really care about Carlton one way or the other but the umpiring in the latter part of the game was disgusting. They were reamed, and not the first time in a Dogs game.

The only ducking free kick paid last night was Motlop for the Blues

Jeez Carlton trading their 2025 first and second rounders to the Hawks is looking like a very lopsided trade.

Jagga Smith must be feeling a bit ill watching on the sidelines. Insane pressure.
Imagine the irony if Jagga winds up at the Hawks.

When you have a gun ruck, TDK and a Coleman medallist, Curnow and a Brownlow medallist, Cripps with a gun back, Weitering, how can the rest of them be so poo?
Coz, too much, too few.

Exactly. Why play exciting and watchable footy when he can play for the Blues?

Bevo deserves some credit for how he has the Doggies playing minus 2024's League MVP, his All Australian midfield mate and two of their main goalkickers from last season.

They could easily be 3-0 and look to have good buy-in across the squad they put out each week.

He seems to coach better when he has less pieces.

Maybe he confuses himself when he has too many things to play with.

That said, he got very lucky with Darcy. They'd be 0-3 right now withiut this F/S pick, puts things in perspective.

Yes, I'm aware of Richmond's tactic with it. They got away with it a lot but also gave away a lot of 50s.
They also generally also only crept a half step or so. This one is the biggest that I've seen that wasn't penalised.
Surely you can admit that after the fact? It won't change the result.
Of course he was over the mark. His momentum carried him, the ump didn’t call him back, nothing to see. It also had 5/8ths of **** all impact on the game.
Motlop gifted goal was eventually offset by LDVs, maybe it’s the new normal to have no prior opportunity, who knows with this mob.
Doesn’t matter, the umpiring was rubbish, doesn’t matter. You guys are in for a crappy season at this rate.

14 - 7 Blues frees in the first half.

I'm sure you'll have something to say about that.
The numbers balanced themselves eventually, the blues frees seemed to lead to more goals though. Having said that the Motlop gifted goal in the opening minute was offset by a gifted kick and goal to LDV.

LDVs the best I’ve seen him, it was worth persevering, Davidson is a great pickup, super impressed and Freijah into the mids is working out great. And Kennedy….thanks for him Vossy.

I enjoy the Blues pile on as much as anyone but in reality I don’t think they are that bad.

That's the worst part. They're not that bad.

It's been a slow gradual decline, that's been happening now for a couple of years, which started to accelerate around June last season.

TDK and some minor improvements from some other players, have kind of slow down the decline, but while they're hanging by a thread with their heavy contested rugby scrimmage game (and it's commendable), it's not going to be enough.

Last night they actually played a little bit differently and moved the ball a lot better than the first two weeks of the season. But Voss needs to overhaul the list with outside run or speed, and redo his game plan. And will the Carlton faithful give him another 3 years to restart everything? Doubt it.

Touched ball by Weitering. Very clear.

I'm more concerned about Naughton's which looked a lot like a point but was paid a goal.
Clear to nobody. All commentators agreed you can’t overrule on that evidence.
And Astros kick was so high and bending so much only the goal umpire had any chance of judging it. The video evidence wasn’t there either way.

You can have 300fps cameras but at home we are only ever getting 50fps. Same with the bitrate of the broadcast.

7 and Foxtel only have so much bandwidth and only so much the viewer can stream at home on most internet connection. But the broadcast truck does capture at a lot higher bitrate than what the viewer gets.

Just maybe the ARC are getting the untouched feed and that's why they could make the decision they did when the viewers at home watching at 4K couldn't see it.

No. That's not right.

If they had the higher frame rate cameras like you say they would literally take 5 to 10 seconds to make the decision.

They spent 3 minutes trying to make that decision, it means they're running on the same feed that we're getting.

It was a vibe call.
