I assumed blues model was similar to Richmonds 2017-2020 model.

4 elite players of 2 mids (Martin and Cotchin) one elite defender (Rance) and one forward (Riewoldt). With solid b or C grade rotation or role players and trade in one or 2 players that have won finals (nankervis)

Carlton. Have a similar 4 elite players 2 mids (Cripps and Walsh) 1 defender (Weitering) and one forward (Curnow or McKay).

With solid b or C grade rotation players. Trade in blokes that have won finals (Blake Acres)
Richmond's fitness, gameplan, defensive group and role players were to a much higher level than this Carlton group. They could really swarm and stifle opposition, plus they moved the ball forward in that chaos way that everyone was on board with.

The Blues don't have that kind of tactical edge and look unfit, don't really pressure opposition well for 4 quarters and aren't good at generating slingshot counter attacks. They also don't have a rock solid, elite defensive group that acts as a wall until opposition are exhausted.

The difference is that Richmond's Be graders as you call them were pretty good
Vlastuin , Lynch , Edwards , Lambert , Houli , Astbury , Broad , Short , Rioli , Bolton , Nankervis etc

But the main difference was the game style which was proven to be successful in finals
Pressure Pressure Pressure

Carlton dont play a pressure attacking game and the coach is not very good
Richmond's game plan and structure was your clubs main weapon and asset.

Just look at the 2019 grand final between Richmond and GWS.

Sure GWS were cooked . But Richmond wasn't full strength either. Alex Rance did his knee literally in round 1. He sadly retired after the season was done. At least he got a Premiership medal in 2017

Are you suggesting that you can't tell the difference between Carlton's navy blue jumper with white shorts and Collingwood's black and white striped jumper with black shorts? Wow.
Surely freos purple and white jumper or shirt doesn't clash with other AFL clubs?

This isn't 1960 anymore where it was black and white tv lol

Daicos looks terrified every time the ball comes in his general vicinity
Ah yes, another Einstein from Pineapple-Shagistan. I remember the Grand Final of 2023 and the Handpass of the Century. I guess you you have blocked that from your memory huh? Let me help.

Carlton just didn't play wet weather football. The whole second half they tried to handball backwards to find a player to release by foot.

It was mental in a scrappy wet weather game. They constantly lost ground in what became a territory game. Dumb football, especially as Collingwood set up a sweeper who won the ball back time and time again.

Voss is easy to coach against.

I would have thought it was obvious. Didn’t matter about the colours. There was a supremely skilled bunch of players and there were a bunch of non-composed, fumbling hacks.

Loves David Kings stupid comment

Pies have 17 players over 100 games and Blues have 7 players over 100 games, that’s why they’re losing.

I’m pretty sure Hawks have less players than that over 100 games so how are we better than these two minnows

Flog
Don’t know about last nights teams yet, but last week Coll, Carl and Haw sat 1st, 5th and 6th on the overall experience of the 23 selected.

On 100 games calc
Coll 17 on 100 games plus, Carl with 13, Haw with 11.

Bottom of that list are Ess with 5, and Port Adel with 7.

Injury lists at any time impact that of course.

(Full List was posted in the premiership favorite thread just last night. Good to see David King picked up the idea, but couldn’t read. Ah Kingy, never change.)

Umps weren't great, and since it didn't favour us like the last 3 weeks I was fuming.

TDK tries to ragdoll his opponent almost every ruck contest. Eventually umps will notice, but Cameron is heavier than most and won that duel.

Pies played one good quarter but the rest of the time they were still looking to win: they sprayed and sprayed but kept plugging away.

Carlton played a good half but even at their best didn't seem convinced: the moment things went wrong they went into their shells.

Voss is inflexible. That can be a strength, but right now they need a freshen up. Honestly they are a player short, maye two, but the main problem is in the players heads.

It went exactly the way i thought it would, the Blues have an overrated list and more than a few soft players. It only takes a few to shirk the issue and it sweeps through the rest of the team like a virus. They're close in games, but a long way from getting the cigar! Voss must be fuming behind closed doors considering the way he once played, he's seeing none of that from the team he coaches.

What does that have to do with Daicos looking terrified at every contest?
