Did I read this correctly? Freo went over the interchange quota by 5. Is there an actual penalty?

I have barely mentioned the umpires in the last almost 20 years on this site.
They were shocking tonight. At least 8 holding the balls, clear one’s missed. Three turned into goals. It was diabolical today.

I genuinely think 4 umpires is making things far worse than 3 used to be. Dogs got shafted v the Pies so the AFL tried to even things up by giving them the advantage vs Freo.

There are too many field umpires, they all have different interpretations, and it appears to me that "off the play" umps who have a clear view of an incident, as not prepared to over rule.
Bring it back to 3 umps.

It's certainly not just a coincidence that the less relevant teams in the AFL's eyes (SA and WA teams, and occasionally the smaller Vic teams) are always seemingly the ones shafted by the umps the most.
If Collingwood or Carlton had been on the recieving end of what Freo or Adelaide were this weekend, you'd hear the howling from where I live across the Tasman.
this is true.
The Freo crowd is relatively tolerant of umpire errors (more so than some of us here)....
But, I have never seen the Faithful so angry, for so long, as on Sunday !
Collective judgement for umpiring performance was a FAIL.
By the way...I always defend the umpires.
In this case the defence is, incompetent but not corrupt.
Addit:
I do not mean just the officiating umpires necessarily,
I "feel" when cockup like this happens the umpiring team is struggling with new directives from their coaches?
As in, "this week we are focussing, (not), on holding the ball!".
The umpires do not approach any game as autonomous individuals any more than players do.
