Cats looked really lazy in the first half. Very nice of Sook Scott to use all that Morris Finance leadership to get the players to pull their fingers out of their arse.

Scott's very giffable, loved the "WHAT THE ****!?!??" when one of the early calls went against him, very funny.

He must be such an asset to Morris Finance. Might be in for a pay rise I reckon.

A good quality game again, just a shame we couldn't get the result. We made a couple of horrific mistakes in our D50 that changed momentum during the 3rd and 4th, which was the difference in the end. Our skills seemed off for a fair bit of last night tbh, outside of that patch in the 2nd.

Thought Geelong were on top in the midfield most of the night too.

Frustrating to not be 1-1 from the last 2 weeks, but also can't complain with a 3-2 start to the season and playing in high quality games against the best sides so far.

Curtin didn't play in defence so they had no defender under 25 games played.

If only they were like Geelong's defence who could rely on the experienced heads of O'Sullivan (6 games), Humphries (16) and Mullin (23).
Yeah he's doubling down and just getting more wrong every time.

Making an excuse for the Crows as they had one defender out :p

Halfway through the second quarter:
Adelaide 10.5
Geelong 5.5

Rest of match:
Adelaide 5.5
Geelong 13.6

A lot of the excuses being made seem pretty invalid to me.
I do think coming off a 5 day break and the heat of GC played a factor in the Crows dropping off during the 2nd half, but all teams will go through that pinch at some stage this year so I don't feel a need to blame the result on it.

Agreed. Up till 3QT was one of the best games I'd seen all year.

I thought the difference was, seemingly, that when the ball was moving, Adelaide got on top with better ball usage and movement, but we were consistently winning the ball in the contest. The dirtier the game was, the better it was for us.

Yep, was a fun game to watch (at the same time as being nervous as **** haha). Given the inevitable drop off late in the game from fatigue after last week, I felt we needed to have built a bigger lead into 3 quarter time to have any realistic chance of winning. When I then saw Laird kick into the man on the mark early in the 4th, I knew we were done.

How bloody good was the Rising Star favourite last night? No Stewart, Henry or Kolo so he had to play genuine KPD against the best KPFs in the comp and handled himself amazingly well. Richmond's rebuild wouldn't be going so poorly if they had a young tall like that. Only just scratching the surface of his talents you sense too.
Yikes. What a meltdown. Shouldn't you be enjoying your umpire-assisted win instead of desperately seeking validation from me?

You’re on a Geelong and Crows thread talking about Geelong.

Shouldn’t you be worried about your own game?

Btw, COS had a fantastic LOCKDOWN game on the big Crows forwards.
Kid is gonna be a star, and got him at, Pick 11 along with Mannagh.

Wells/Mackie masterclass strikes once again!

Not as good as last years rising star, Will Ashcroft.

Richmond wouldn’t be going through a rebuild, if they had cotton on as a sponsor…

PS. Levi will win it this year

You mean last year’s Rising Star winner Ollie Dempsey?
The Rookie Drafted kid who is an excitement machine?

Levi and COS play different positions, Levi plays a role that feeds him the ball.
COS plays a much harder role which requires a more defensive mindset so he doesn’t get to rack up cheap disposals that aren’t damaging.

Both have had great starts to the year, will be a hotly contested one.
Probably about 5 or 6 guys who could win it.

Oh hey we've won plenty of those over the years too. Not sure how Ashcroft finishing runner up to Sheezel(gun) in the 2023 RS has any relevance on Dempsey winning last year's iteration, but here we are I guess? B-b-b-but Brisbane. :thumbsu:

They’re the same anytime we play them.
Their fans try to make it a rivalry game like we care what they think or do.
They have this weird spite of how we run as a club and always in our threads.
And yet, they aren’t even top 5 in terms of Cats rivals LOL

Good comparison and it speaks volumes, even though Cats one should easily be Hawthorn and Hawthorn alone.

I didn’t call Will a rising star winner…

Side note, some of Geelong fans at the game are gross individuals

Hardly suprising, watched one getting thrown out of last years qualifying final after making derogatory comments towards and putting his hands on a Female Port supporter there with her kids.
When security and Police stepped in he started on them too.

It's best to just assume every match involving Geelong is a rivalry match in the eyes of the opposition fans. It's been a revolving door the past 20 years.

Idiots in every fanbase but cmon man, surely you can see the irony with a Port flair? LOL

Just the fans?

Bailey Smith set to get a please explain from AFL house for flipping the birds at fans heading down the race.

On recent events id suggest a disgusting club on and off the field.
