Wetter conditions anzac day.

Could make it closer.

Wet weather footy.

Been a long while since its was wet on Anzac day.

Still you would say Pies to strong and good for essendon.

Pies win by 18 points.

always a special day..fingers crossed ess can do there part to make it a special game

Apart from 2016 with Essendon’s top ups the margin has only been more than 4 goals once in the last decade and 4 of the last 5 have been 13 points or less for this match, Collingwood should be too strong but I doubt it’s a blow out.
Yeah I’m with you. Despite the formlines (Magpies have been super impressive, Bombers haven’t) I think the margin will be within a few goals either way.

The Civil War

Part 29: Prelude to the Last Battle

Narrator
[Ken Burns] The two opposed armies came together at last at a small patch of land near Jolimont Station, known locally as the cricket ground, because of the excessive amount of crickets found on the ground in those parts.

[Grainy b&w photo of an empty field, could be literally anywhere]

The forces of Unionwood were now led by General McRae, an eccentric man with 44 sons and an aversion to placentas. Whenever his wife gave birth he refused to remain in the same parish, and had never once heard his children cry.

[Grainy b&w photo of some bloke…possibly Ted Lasso?]

Scott McRae [VO by Matthew Broderick]

My dearest wife, congratulations on surviving your latest encouchment. They say this one is quite long, I want you to call him Ned. If he should cry, or call out boo hoo, well we ask him not to do that, we do not boo in this family.

Narrator The Rebeldon forces were camped south of the Yarrahanock river, where they attempted to regroup after years of demoralising defeats.

[Grainy b&w photo of some guys camping maybe]

Shelby Foote [sitting comfortably by a twinkling fire, also his eyes are twinkling]

The men subsisted on a diet of corn meal and possum grits, which they caught using devices they improvised from washboards and cotton gins, wherewith they were somewhat downcast, inasmuch as all possibility of victory had departed, but their native humour sustained them nevertheless and there’s a story that some boys from South Carolina…[the audience blacks out]

Narrator General Bradley PTSD Scott led the remnants of the Rebeldon armies, with his usual hopeless stubbornness, but now with even less hope. His order of the day on the morning of the battle set the tone for their clash.

[grainy photo of…is that a map of Tasmania?]

Brad Scott [VO by Chris Scott]

Well we’ve been disappointing, there’s a lack of effort, no intent, and that’s the reality.

Shelby Foote [fire is now twinkling uncontrollably]

Well there’s another story, that as the 571st brigade of the Bloodstained Fellows, they were known as “Zackah's Uninjectables” on account of [Narrator interjects AHEM!] where was I, uh yes, so as those boys made their way down toward the field of crickets, they passed an aged figure like an alcoholic Irish washerwoman

[grainy photo of a Richmond triple premiership player and four time Essendon premiership coach]

Shelby Foote [even his hair is twinkling now]

And this aged stooped figure, face blotched and reeking of alcohol, addressed the men. And the men called out to this apparition “What do you have to say, what is the word?” And the figure replied “The word? What is the word? Hird! Hird is the word!”

Fade to Black.

Collingwood easily.

Haven't been impressed in the slightest with Essendon this year.
Their performance over West Coast was just plain gross.

Agree with this. Think Pies will get up but it'll be a fairly close one.
