Yet you can’t look away.HUGE crowd for this massive fixture.
Might even be 20k.
Is channel 7 even broadcasting the game?
A re-run of Titanic would probably be better for ratings.
Way to goPack it up everyone. The fun police have arrived
The 30 second count down clock is shown on the scoreboard as soon as the mark is taken. It counts down for all to see.Do the umpires have someone upstairs with a stopwatch for the play on call?

Still the weirdest shit ever, win a game of footy and you go in to the rooms and celebrate by singing a song. I can't think of any other pro sports league that does the same thing
The rule is 30 seconds from the time they're awarded the mark/free kick. That's when the shot clock on the scoreboard starts. The time that McKay let go of him is not relevant.I went back and checked again, I got 28 seconds from the point McKay let go of him and he was able to walk back to his mark, but the umps were also blowing their whistles and directing players to stay out of the area, so they often don't count that as part of your time because they would then call you back to take your kick again if you DID kick.
All in all, you love to see the umpires finding new ways to insert themselves into a close game of football at the most decisive moments.
Yes you hate to see it, very ugly, wish him a speedy recovery.Ridley going down sucks.
Fans have been calling for Jones and Gresham to be dropped for awhile although you never want them being injured.
That therein lies the problem. It's the lack of consistency that people hate. Plenty of times in that situation, the umpire warns the player. Why umpires have to baby players I’ll never know. You have 30 seconds how hard is it to know?
Yep it was annoying. Wouldve been a great finish.I went back and checked again, I got 28 seconds from the point McKay let go of him and he was able to walk back to his mark, but the umps were also blowing their whistles and directing players to stay out of the area, so they often don't count that as part of your time because they would then call you back to take your kick again if you DID kick.

If it was like the EPL, your club would have been relegated to Div 2 years ago never to return!Becoming like the EPL where it's the same teams every year.
Nah watch the replay on kayo he marked it ....ump blew whistle a few swHe took the kick 40 seconds after he marked it.
31 secs from the mark but 27 secs when ump blew whistle for paid mark anyhow umps have given more time for players pickin' their nose or jocks from their aarse n mouth guard in socks than thatI went and re-watched it, it was about 31 seconds that they called play on, so the right call.

100%Becoming like the EPL where it's the same teams every year.
It’s not just today. It’s this year. The umpiring has gotten noticeably worse.Thought the umpires were just against footy today. So many blatant throws and odd interpretations of holding/blockjng

Was your loss to Melbourne in prime time?In a just competition, Essendon wouldn’t be getting any prime time games next year. What a waste of a timeslot
We are tragics this isn’t validYet you can’t look away.
