You must really rate Carl in that case.
Personally - a drubbing of witches hats is not an appropriate guide.
Sydney will probably be thereabouts, but they'll certainly need to beat a few of last year's top 8 before getting too excited.

Brisbane, Hawthorn and GC in their next 4 games will give us an early guide.

Last year after Sydney fleeced Carlton for Curnow I remember a few angry Blues fans were adamant that Hayward and Florent were more than salary dumps and would be good AFL players :$
So because we lost to Sydney in OR that means they aren't good players? Florent was probably one of our best and Hayward with limited service showed enough. Also think there was a bit more to the Curnow deal than Hayward but I may have that wrong.

It was only a split second decision, but that knee to the head of Heeney was 100% deliberate
In what way was it deliberate? His foot does not change direction and there is no additional force. He is simply running forward and he accidently collects him in his normal running motion.

I listened to SEN Dwayne’s world talkback radio last week visiting clients and I almost crashed my car with laughter..

Off two pre season games the following was confirmed

Jagga smith is already better than nick daicos
Jagga smith is winning the brownlow
Carlton are better without curnow
Carlton are favorites for the flag because they beat geelong and Brisbane in a practice match

The bizzare thing was these callers had such sincerity in their voices calling up saying this stuff that you’d almost be concerned for thei mental health.

Fast forward to the real stuff.. Carlton comes out and gets belted by 10 goals.

Blues fans and reality always seem to be an ocean apart
Flag favourites? Smith > Daicos? Smith to win Brownlow? You seriously treat whoever spouts nonsense like that on SEN as representative of Carlton fans as a whole? Come on man

If Saad has concussion Weitering could be in trouble he pushed Curnow under him causing him to fall on his head. Not sure if he did suffer concussion though.

Good game of football I would give the votes to
3- Warner
2- Heeney
1- Pittonet

Both played fairly well for a poor side tonight.

The trade is quite likely a win-win. Will only know the details as we get into 2026, and especially the third year as they own our first round selection that season albeit that one is just a slide back

Kind of baffles me that for about 3 years now Carlton are still only capable of one half of competitive football.

It is but that's what can happen when it's still mainly the same senior group playing the same way and the same coach coaching the same way.

Pitto was good but I'd be rewarding 3 Swans, and Heeney isn't 1 of them.

McInerney and Gulden would join Warner for me. Goals/goal assists/score involvements galore, which fit with them breaking the game open and running amok.

Carlton lost top tier talent and bought a bunch of rejects from successful clubs in. The result… not improving
"Rejects" like Hayward and Ainsworth who played every game they were fit for these successful clubs and Florent who played what 130 games in a row under Longmire when Swans were one of the best teams in the comp. Makes sense.

Who did you think we were going to get for Curnow? Gulden? And what exactly were we supposed to get for free agents other than picks?
