Looking for the undermanned Power (nine injuries month+) to just show that level of effort again against another top side, buying into Josh Carr’s non negotiables on work rate and defensive pressure as a springboard for attack.
Geelong will simply be too good however and will find a ten minute period to put the contest to bed.

People don't have Geelong as a top side yet. I think we'd still need to beat a contender(s) (Brisbane/GC/Sydney/Fremantle in future fixtures) before that changes.

The Port, NM and Collingwood games all loom as banana peels before then - if we get through those unscathed we'd be in a decent position.

Could be interesting to see how Port go and whether they're actually a decent side or that they've just got the Hawks number

The Hawthorn curse to strike. Port put up a great fight against the Hawks. An even skirmish early before Geelong pull away against a tired Port.

It's one long season and tough comp rdhopkins2 and we at Catland like all clubs, need any little bit of help we can get. So yeah, thanks to all at the 'Mighty Hawks' for softening-up our next opposition in 'The Power'..... much appreciated!

Error in the Geelong side, it’s missing….

LATE OUT: Jack Henry (Oblique), replaced in named side by Oliver Wiltshire

You can cut/paste that in about 5pm on Saturday.

Dropping Kolodjashnij seems a bit harsh. He was great last Friday night

Geelong have a squad of about 30 AFL standard players and they are just going to rotate them all year. Our issue is we don't have the top end talent in comparison to a team like Brisbane but we bat deep on 6 or 7 out of 10 players. Kolo hasn't played for 2 years so managing him after a couple of games is fair enough.
