Just regarding the arc decision.

It doesn’t matter if it was a mark or not that was a 50/50 call.

The issue every day of the week is that play went on and the ball was on the wing and almost a minute had elapsed. As soon as you play on you shouldn’t be able to use the arc, play must be stopped straight away surely.

I was filthy at that decision and I’m a saints fan.

Just a few questions because I didn’t notice did the time go back on the clock?

Players that had possessions in that time did they officially count. You no with betting being such a big of the game and players possessions being something you can gamble on.

Obviously that 1 decision didn’t impact the game but it sure shifted the momentum afterwards and the eagles dropped there head.

Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts and surely even saints fans can see how this was a terrible decision once play was well and truly back on.

Because it compounds the issue. That free kick was given when the margin was still manageable.

We were getting well beaten but the Saints didn’t take their opportunities and teams have turned it around from there many times before.

That’s not to say we would have but having the opportunity taken away from a blatantly incorrect call, via a process that has never been used up until this point, leaves a pretty sour taste.

The arc thing was poor.

But it's the least of your problems.

Sure that's not an issue if it's a rule and told to everyone that can happen, not just pulled out their ass when it suits their agenda. Having said that has to be 30 sec max IMO, otherwise what happens if other team is having a shot at goal? Or potentially even scores a goal really quickly?
There's not a specific "rule" but ARC does have the discretionary power to do what they did. But 50's later, after play has resumed..... not sure anyone wants that

No doubt WC have been trash but one team spent millions in the off season and was supposed to be gunning for a flag, the other has half the team under 20 games and it took possibly the worst call in history halfway through the 2nd term for them to find momentum and breakaway, is it a surprise? That's after blatant howlers like TDK's handball straight out of bounds and Sinclair bouncing it in a tackle as well which may have both lead to goals too.
We all play with the same salary cap big man.

Insanity confirmed.

You truly believe a free kick was a potential turning point in a game you lost by over 100 points. One missed free kick may have turned "manageable" into 100+ points according to your line of thinking.

It is posts like this that lead me not to block you. I saw less funny acts at the Melbourne comedy festival this year.
Definitely changed the margin but likely not the result. We conceded a handful of goals directly following that after holding up quite well to that point, then the heads dropped on a young struggling side in the last quarter and that was the end of it.

You haven’t watched much footy in the last 2 years clearly. Better sides than us are conceding similar runs of goals without being able to stop it. The game has been broken and decisions like this are compounding the problem for struggling sides.

“Gunning for a flag”.

I’ve read it all now.

What would you call overpaying for B grade players in their prime then?

Thats a desperate move by Ross to get the best out of the list before Nas leaves and ageing stars like Sinclair and Wilkie start declining
Turn it up. I bet you weren’t mentioning our cap spend last year when we lost with a squad occupying 75% of the cap. Some absolute pearlers in here

Congratulations to St Kilda on a fantastic performance.

For us, the kids continue to lead the way. It’s a damn sight disappointing the senior players don’t follow their lead, especially for effort!

We’re in the business of flags and you haven’t seen one in your lifetime and will be lucky to see a prelim with this list build
You sure it’s not the business of 100+ point losses? 🤣

You’re right, you’ve been watching a great list rebuild at Lathlain since 2022 - four years and can only just see some kids coming through now

What other pearlers you got?

Yes mate, Ross and the whole board believes this year is our last chance for a flag.

FMD.

You’ve been in a constant state of mediocrity for 150 years. That’s where it starts and stops.
